I have only been once and will never go back. We each had the set menu (€27.50, so fairly high-end by Delft standards). My hot veal was over cold pasta for some reason (not nice), and the veal was tough. My halibut was flavorless (I'll add that I'm from Alaska and know my halibut) and served over veggies which had been cooked to death. My dessert seemed to have been plated days ago - frosted over ice cream and a rubbery biscuit on top. My girlfriend was likewise disappointed on all 3 of her courses (raw fish sashimi, steak tournedos, peanut brittle). The whipped cream on my girlfriend's peanut brittle had obviously gone bad; it tasted like chemicals, like refrigerant. The kicthen agreed and removed this one item from our bill. That night my girlfriend got sick with food poisoning. When I went back to complain they would not be convinced that it was possibly their food, and were unconcerned with my opinion of the food or their kitchen standards, but as someone who has worked virtually every restaurant position for over 8 years I can tell you that there are poor kitchen standards if they allowed whipped cream like that to go out. In fact they tried to blame the seaweed from my girlfriend's appetizer, but she grew up in SE Asia and eats her fair share of seaweed (not to mention that the whole idea seems ridiculous to me). I might not be surprised at a low-end restaurant, but this was not that. The restaurant is normally crowded and we were excited for our first visit (there is so much bad restaurant food here) but we went on a Monday, so maybe they're getting rid of food from the weekend? As I said, I will not be back. Oh, and as a small side note crappy 80's pop music is not my idea of nice atmosphere in a restaurant like that. Fortunately there is an EXCELLENT tapas place a few meters...
Read moreTLDR: lovely place with nice staff, a nice location and good food. NO "covid catch up" and cramming the restaurant full, rushing and having too little time for customers.
Long version: When it was allowed to go for dinner again we decided to go here since my girlfriend knew it and liked it a lot. We areived and got met by a nice man that scanned our covid certificates etc and gave us a couple table options. We were pleasantly surprised that they didn't stuff the restaurant as full as they could because they were finally allowed to be open again. The restairant was busy but there was by far enough space between tables and people. The staff was friendly, did all the things you expect in a calm and non rushed way even though it was busy. They took the time for you and even asked if you wanted a break in between courses. The food looked nice and tasted good. There is not much more to say about that, it was good and I would love to try other meals on their menu.
Overall a very pleasant experience especially now that a lot of restaurants rush, have too few staff members and need to make up lost income from covid closures.
If you are looking for a nice diner in at a nice location that isn't rushed but you never have to wait then this is a very...
Read moreMy experience here has been excellent. The restauant is placed in the city center of Delft and as soon as you get in, you already feel the difference with the rest of the places in the city. The waitress that took my order was really friendly and diligent putting the quality of the service at very high level. In this case I started with the moshroom soup and Spanish ham. The soup was actually light, but good though. Even when the ham was not the best one, it matched perfectly with the bread and the rosemary fragrance. Second I went for the pumpkin and ricotta lasagna, served with nicely dressed salad and season veggies. Delicious. Finally, the banana ice cream made me absolutely satisfied. I will...
