Locus Publicus — Restaurant in Delft

Just came home from this wonderful place. Excellent atmosphere, the dutch call it “gezellig”. This is the place if you want to experience the real deal when it comes to the best selection of beers of Delft. There is no place like it anywhere else.

Here you will not find influencers, youtubers, tiktokkers, instagrammers. Here you will find honest people, serving honest food and great drinks for honest prices. This is the place where you want to hang out with friends until it closes and then some more. You will not find pumpkin spice latte’s or botanical-forward cocktails. You will find good comfort food, like I had. Mine was the spicey grilled cheese and minced meat toast. It was delicious and I will soon come back with my own family to enjoy their specialties.

Their selection of beers is insane and you should try at least one that you’ve never drank or heard of before. You will not be disappointed. It is a very comfy and cozy place...

Locus is one of my favorites for more than 30 years. If you are beer lovers, you can't pass this place without going in. I admit that the interior could have A MAJOR FACELIFT. I can't understand why the owner doesn't do so. It still looks exactly the same as in 1989. With the same grungy student barmen and women and also audience, who are at first seemingly difficult but after the beer is flowing sometimes have amazing specific stories about the 200 or so beers they have here. A lot of them available from tap directly which is quite different than from the bottle. As I'm from Delft I know my way around the pubs bars in the city. If you are looking for a cozy, warm pub atmosphere then Locus would be one of the recommendations. It usually isn't packed inside, but it can happen from time to time that it is really full. They have a wide range of special beers for you to try and the staff will be able to tell you all about it.
