De Waag — Restaurant in Delft

I hardly leave any bad reviews. But this time I had to.

Earlier I made a reservation with my name Minji. I understand that foreign names can be difficult to write down, so I even said my company name (as it was a company event) which is more recognizable. The worker said my name was good enough.

Today I went there and asked for the table with my name. They couldn't find my reservation and instead, showed their internal reservation document so I can point out mine.

Guess how my name was written. NINJA.

Seriously? Please, seriously? Can anyone imagine any person on earth being named Ninja?

If the person who answered my phone didn't understand my name, she could have asked for spelling or could have written my company name as I suggested.

This is the worst experience I have ever had in the last 6 years in the Netherlands.

I hope that the restaurant reads my comment and truly investigate what went wrong. Please learn from your mistake and never do the same to other people. This is...

We really liked this restaurant and bar. The food was first rate and the staff friendly and professional. The building is very old, a landmark, and very popular with both locals and tourists (on two visits we found the tourists were mostly in the outside seating area). On our second visit we found a party of about 30 - 40 locals at a long dining table inside ....but our service remained excellent. Very disappointing experience. We asked for medium burgers, but we all got well-done patties instead. Mine was straight dry with raw chunk in the middle. The burger taste was mediocre at best especially considering 20 eur price tag. Some people from staff were drinking beer on their shift, I am not sure if that's normal here. In the end the waitress was too lazy to properly split the receipt for 5 people, even though it was only burgers beer and two wine glasses, instead they demanded us all to pay an even amount per head.
