A beautiful building with a rich history. There is a small entrance fee, but the ticket will give you access to two churches: the New and the Old Church. What makes it fascinating is that the two churches are the polar opposites of each other. The New Church is rather dark and mysterious, with an interesting interactive exhibition. The Old Church is lighter and quieter and has an art exhibition that changes every few months as well as a permanent exhibition about the history of the church. In the past people of Delft were bullied because of the leaning tower. The inside of the church is beautiful and very typical to a Dutch Gothic church. Read moreThe church is opened 6 days a week and closed on Sunday. There are tombs of Vermeer and Anthony van Leeuwenhoek. It should be noted that actual burring place of Vermeer topped by a small plaque. Curiously, there is a big memorial plate that says that Vermeer is buried in this church a dozen meters from original tomb.
