Filly’s — Restaurant in Eindhoven

I understand that running a restaurant is difficult business, therefore I don't think it's right to give one star score simply because I had a not great experience at that one time I tried them. That being said, in this particular order I was underwhelmed with the food and the delivery experience that prompted me to write this review.

Delivery: Decided to wait the rush hour and ordered around 18h35, I don't know if I successfully avoided the rush hour. Before the order stated time was 30 mins, delivered at 1hr 10 mins. Interestingly, the slip delivered with the order was marked as to deliver at 1hr mark. Therefore I have no choice other than to accept that it's already known or decided at the order time it is going to be late. I don't know if the delivery time needs to be updated in ubereats or is it an internal process thing, but that had an impact on the overall satisfaction, this effect is somewhat increased because the restaurant delivers the order themselves, so you have less information to make sense of the delay.

Food: I ordered two oklahama burgers. The meat of the burgers was dry. Which is understandable due to the format of smash burgers. But the cut used was too lean and unfortunately lacking flavor. Additionally it was under seasoned. The pickles were soggy and lacking in both texture and taste. House made sauce was also underwhelming. Finally bun was okay, but I would be lying if I said it was great. Which made the overall experience, sorry to say, bland and disappointing. I can't tell if this is a price point thing and I should have had different expectations, but I have eaten comparatively much better burgers in Amsterdam and they were around the same price.

Overall, it was a pity that this meal wasn't great as I was quite excited for it. I think they can do much better if they use a different meat and with better seasoning. I wish the best for the restaurant, if they have better reviews in the future, I would like to give them...

Ik dacht altijd dat ik al goede hamburgers had gegeten, tot ik deze tegenkwam. Vanaf de eerste hap wist ik: dit is geen hamburger, dit is pure liefde tussen twee broodjes. Het vlees was sappig, vers en zo perfect gebakken dat ik me serieus afvroeg of de chef stiekem tovenaar is in plaats van kok. Mals alsof het boter was, maar dan met die volle, hartige smaak die je smaakpapillen spontaan de polonaise laat lopen. Elke hap was een klein geluksmomentje.

En alsof dat nog niet genoeg was, was de service ook echt top: vriendelijk, snel en met een glimlach alsof ze wisten dat ik op het punt stond de beste hamburger van mijn leven te eten. Je voelt je hier geen klant, maar eerder een speciaal uitgenodigde gast bij een privé-burgerfeestje.

Het geheel, de smaak, de sfeer en de bediening klopte gewoon. Ik ga hier nog vaak terugkomen, al is het alleen maar om te checken of het écht geen droom was.

Kortom: deze hamburger heeft de lat zo hoog gelegd dat ik medelijden heb met elke andere burger die ik ooit nog ga eten. Vanaf nu meet ik alle andere hamburgers in mijn leven met deze als...

I had an amazing experience at Filly’s! The burgers were juicy, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The fries were crispy, and the portion sizes were just right. The staff was friendly and quick, and the place had a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Definitely one of the best burger spots I’ve been to — I’ll be coming...
