In my opinion, the best pizza you can find in Eindhoven! After we moved from Italy, it was not easy to find a few places with a good quality pizza and this is on top of our list! It’s a nice and cozy restaurant, with friendly staff as well. The pizza is really authentic: you can find classic pizza or special ones, but all with great combinations of fresh ingredients. I read some reviews complaining about a “burned” crust. Maybe you are not used to real pizza, properly cooked in a wood-fired oven! On a frozen pizza or if you order one from the famous low-quality chains, you will never find a “burned” crust. But that’s simply the effect of a high temperature cooking, that will give you a tasty and soft dough!! :) If it’s just a little bit dark on the surface of the crust, you will never taste something burned… It’s way better to eat this kind of pizza just cooked, so I strongly recommend to eat in the restaurant, but if you take it away it’s a good idea to warm it up in the oven, or in a large pan with a lid for a few minutes. Not in a microwave, if you don’t want to kill...
Read moreFinally! After I tried all the pizzeria in Eindhoven I can say finally! The large part of the pizzeria in the city are something between an American pizza and a Turkish pizza style. Hout Pizzeria is different. The smells, the colors are a reminiscent of a true Italian pizzeria and a real wooden oven is located in the middle of the room. We tasted a tagliere with cold cuts, cheeses and veggies served with a hot focaccia. Then we moved on pizza: the dough was soft and the yeast showed a really good processing. All the ingredients look and taste fresh and high quality. If you're thirsty you can surely find a good beer. We closed the meal with a dessert. I appreciated the vanilla ice cream "drowned" with a short, black coffee and the "discomposed" cannolo: it is a ricotta cheese cream with citrus zest, chocolate, pistacho grit and waffle pieces and it had really fresh taste. The prices are fair and, in the name of the Italian tradition, we received a free limoncello drink to close the dinner. I officially claim Hout Pizzeria my preferred pizzeria...
Read moreNo question about it, pizza is a "real" and good pizza, certainly at the level of a good pizzeria in Italy. Top quality ingredients: mozzarella, tomatoes, truffle (luckily not the too much popular truffle-mayo), mushrooms, bufala ... Didn't try yet the burratina & mortadella but it will happen soon. Sweets and icecream are also good. A personal positive remark on the "olive all'ascolana", typical of center Italy (delicious, and for a honest price!) and the "affogato" (an easy alternative to the "dolce" for tasting the smell of espresso and have a little sweet as well) Service reasonably fast, people kind and open to small variations. I like the menu, it has options, but not too many, which is usually a sign of better quality food (less is more!). The only small remark I would give: in the menu there are some "mistakes" in the words that might make some italians (bad people :-) ) thinking that the restaurant is not really and genuinely Italian (a pity because it is!). Overall super positive score, will certainly come...
