Bakkie 040 — Restaurant in Eindhoven

I recently visited Bakkie 40 in the charming district Stripe S. I ordered a Double Espresso (Doppio), and I was thoroughly impressed. The coffee had wonderful fruity notes, pronounced acidity, and a soft, smooth finish that was truly enjoyable. The café's design is quite interesting and unique, making it a pleasant place to relax. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. Inside, the café was comfortably air-conditioned, and there is a summer terrace offering a great view. First, coffee is great. But the real treasure are the sweets! I couldn’t decide so I got three different ones and took them home. The cinnamon croissant pudding was an absolute heaven, the orange loaf with rosemary was one of the best I ever had, moist, crumbly, just enough sweet but too much and pairing it with rosemary brings it to the skies, and finally the butter cookie with white chocolate and berries gave me the comfort of my favorite cookie but with a beautiful twist where the berries create the perfect sweet tart balance. Joke... I totally don't understand so many positive reviews. I was there today, September 6th, around 2:00 PM. The cappuccino was €4. It was warm milk. Stirring it, you could already tell something was wrong. The milk was weak and very poorly frothed. The coffee was barely noticeable. The coffee cookie was dry and bland. A piece of cake for €4.50, supposed to have chocolate and pistachio, had absolutely no flavor. We weren't even served water with our coffee. I visited four cafes in Eindhoven during the week, and the coffee was cheaper and delicious everywhere. For me, I wasted €17...
