We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. From start to finish, the service was poor – the waitstaff were rude, inattentive, and gave the impression they’d rather be anywhere else.
The food didn't make up for it. The carpaccio was served half frozen, which completely ruined the texture and flavor. The ravioli was no better – the asparagus inside wasn't peeled properly, leaving it tough and stringy, and the artichoke tasted either undercooked or old. The other guest ordered a tagliatella scampi, where it unfortunately seems that in these tough economic times they had to save money on the seasoning.
Dessert was the only part that was remotely acceptable, but even that was just average – certainly nothing memorable.
Considering the small portion sizes and the overall low quality, the prices are unjustifiably high. It feels like the restaurant aspires to be in the same category as chains like Vapiano or Happy Italy, but even they know that a dish as simple as a carpaccio is not supposed...
Read moreWe went for a lunch on a rainy day. I really liked the ambience inside..it was cozy.. wanted to order pizza but pizzas are served only after 1700. We ordered spaghetti aglio olie, grilled vegetables, gieten kaas salad and lasagne bologonesa to share...the salad is the best dish, it was fresh and the dressing on point. Grilled vegetables is as expected and lasagne bolognese and spaghetti tasted fine. We ordered panacotta for dessert, the fruits on the dessert didn't seem fresh but the panacotta is good. We took home cannelloni flavours white chocolate, sea salt caramel and stratetella. They were neatly packed and were better than most places you get here (but ofcourse not close to what you get in sicily). Special mention to coffee here, it is one of the best in the town, Italian and coffee can never go wrong! Overall I really...
Read moreHave heard many good things about this place over the last years, and now I was finally able to go.
The focaccia & prosciutto sharing platter wasn't what I expected, as the fociaccia seemed more like leftover crispy pizza dough than the fluffy soft clouds of bread.
The main course was absolutely fantastic. Would definitely come back to try more.
There are some translation irregularities on the menu. For example: Kletskop is not ginger snap.
And I was very surprised to hear their pesto contains cashews. As an Italian restaurant with "typical" Italian dishes, I would expect real pesto with pine nuts and not a cheaper version with cashews...
These are definitely not reasons not to go again, just some things I think can improve. If you consider eating here, please do, you will have a lovely evening with...
