wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the truly wonderful experience I had during my visit to your restaurant. As someone originally from Ethiopia, stepping into Asmera felt like a warm embrace from home, a soothing reminder of my roots.

The dinner I shared with my family was exceptionally special, particularly after spending such a long time away from my homeland. The atmosphere you’ve created is inviting and reminiscent of our rich culture, making it feel like a genuine celebration of our heritage. I particularly enjoyed how you serve the food in the Eritrean traditional way—it made the entire experience feel even more authentic and was such a delightful touch.

The flavors were simply amazing; each dish was bursting with the spices and essence I have missed dearly. Every bite was a symphony of taste that transported me back to cherished moments in Ethiopia. Sipping on teje while enjoying our meal added a unique charm to our dinner and truly made us feel connected to our heritage in a way that is so rare to find.

Your traditional coffee service was also fantastic! Witnessing this beautiful cultural ritual firsthand added an extra layer of joy to our evening. Your attention to detail and the exceptional quality of the food certainly deserves a 5-star plus rating! It’s clear that you and your team pour so much love and passion into every aspect of your restaurant.

Really a wonderful dining experience. Visiting from Chicago, and this has been one of my favorite restaurant experiences so far. The owners were super sweet, they invited me to eat after they were preparing to close their kitchen.

Oost Afrikaans Asmara is one of the best places to have a unique gastronomical experience. The food is very tasty and you can say you will be left with such a nice memory. The owner is super sweet and always helpful with suggestions and open to feedback. My son enjoyed the food along with us and we definitely will come back again. Even though I ate very well, i did not feel any heaviness after the meal. The combination plate is complete meal with all the vegetables and about 7 servings of different types of food. You have to eat with your hands. Go with an open mind if you are going for the first time and you will have a rich experience.
