Barista café — Restaurant in Groningen

The pancakes, quiche, blue butterfly latte and cappuccino are delicious and the atmosphere is fantastic. It is nice and cozy with big windows and outdoor seating. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5: 1. The banana bread is awful (dense, sticky, not really bread at all), 2. The server was confused when I ordered a 'dirty chai latte' so I told her it is just the chai latte with a shot of espresso. She told me she would check with the barista and make sure but then when it was delivered it did not taste like it had coffee in it at all, 3. The fresh lemonade tasted like only soda water with little lemon flavor. They are still new to the city so I'm certainly willing to go back and give another try. It just seems some things are...

This place has potential but it needs a lot of work in the drink department and food. All the drinks taste the same, chai latte, London fog, you can’t tell the difference as there is no flavour in any. They don’t know how to make a proper coffee and they need to find a good barista to put in charge of drinks. The food is ok but they put so much sarricha mayo on my smashed avacado sandwich, that’s all you could taste ! The decor is great, the atmosphere is loud but cozy. Horrible experience. Went here on Friday with a friend and was given the most atrocious drink. I ordered an iced matcha but what I was given shouldn’t be allowed to be called matcha…. The powder was just floating in chunks of barely green milk and the flavour and taste was enough to make you want to vomit… my friend also tried it and was shocked at how bad it was.
