I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I am a graphic designer and I started out on my career when computers first became available for public consumption in 1988. We used to use some of these machines and I love them. They are the computers of old. The people are very welcoming and knowledgeable and I enjoyed to home-made booklet exercise and watching the big old green giloutine in action. Perhaps the negative comments come from people who lack the imagination to see the part these these wonderful printing machines have played in our history and the people who had the expertise to use them... Read moreThis weekend we participated in a workshop organised by GRID on the topic of streetart and the history of street art in the city of Groningen.
The presentation was really interesting and well-given, you really could "dive" into the topic. Later we visited streetart-sites in the city. For us as tourists it was a unique opportunity to discover the city from a whole new perspective. Finally we also got creative and our group designed a fanzine. It was much fun, at the same time we learned a lot about art, the city and also about Riso-Printing.

Read moreIt's not for everyone, but if you have a reasonable interest in printing and lettering and stuff, it's quite nice. The museum is quite bland but the staff really makes up for it. They are obviously very involved and excited to tell you everything they know. Over 3 employees/volunteers told them seemingly all they know about the machines, book binding techniques ect.
