Cappuvino — Restaurant in Groningen

One of the terrible services I have ever experienced. My boyfriend and I were sitting at a table on the 1st floor for lunch. 1) I ordered Spa blauw but got Spa rood, but I didnt say anything to the server because I regarded it as a small mistake. 2) I ordered beef salad and my bf did sandwich. My bf got his food just after 15 mins but even after 20 more mins my salad did not come. After we asked the server, he just mentioned ‘It will come soon but I will check’. Afterwards he said ‘you ordered salmon salad, right?’ I was shocked that he asked this after I waited for 35 mins. 3) Even after 20 more mins I was still waiting for my ‘SALAD’, which is the easiest/fastest food to make. I was so much in frustration and anger that it made waste of my time. The server told me again it is coming soon. Since I couldnt endure waiting more, asked him to check how long it will take. He just answered ‘I cannot check it, sorry’ without seriousness and left. Finally after +-an hour I could get my ‘SALAD’, which means it happened in 40 mins after my bf finished his food.

The thing making me annoyed, apart from waiting time, was the server’s attitude that he didnt take it seriously. I could not still clearly get it how come he just left with the answer ‘I cannot check it’ and why it was so difficult to check it at the kitchen. In case of much delay like this with a certain problem, in my opinion, staffs should explain clients clear reasons. Spent 1 hr to get salad along with...

The atmosphere and food are nice. On their website, they do advertise gluten-free options. However, on their menu, they mark all the vegetarian options with an icon but don't do the same for the gluten-free ones, even though they made it out to be prevelant on their website.

Not that this is bad by any means. It just made it a bit more awkward to order. The food itself was great, though the gluten-free buns were tiny for which to their credit they gave me 2 to compensate. But it made the meal less impressive presentationwise to the ones my friends had.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I would go there again for lunch or just a coffee even. The atmosphere feels a bit fancy to my liking, but once you sit down, it's very cosy, and you have a great view of the people outside. So, the experience ended up being great even if it didn't seem to cater to my preferences.

Wanting to try a new coffee place, we went into Cappuvino on the Vismarkt, hoping to enjoy the great atmosphere that this place exudes. Others had clearly felt the same way as the place was fully booked, so we went ahead and reserved a spot for later with the friendly hostess who was more than willing to help us out. Unfortunately, even after said hostess was already in the process of finishing our reservation, the guy-who-enjoys-being-manager-and-all-the-limited-“power”-that-comes-with-it-a-little-too-much came to burst our bubble, claiming with a mouthful of whatever he was eating that they didn’t do reservations, end of story.
