The food here is always quite good, but today at lunch the service was appalling. I asked for a 'Hertog Jan Dubbel' beer with my lunch and the waitress replied "Well, we only serve that by the pint... I don't know if you'd like to get drunk already, but..." in a rather condescending tone of voice. Now I am not one to allow people to ruin my mood, but the bad tone was quickly set. I ended up ordering a regular pilsener, to the apparent satisfaction of said waitress. Though she didn't explicitly deny me anything, having worked as a waitress before I'm of the opinion that staff shouldn't question a relatively normal order, unless the person ordering is considered unable to make a sound decision. The food (pictured, prawn 'kroket' with fries) was fine, not too special, but the service or lack thereof took away most of my respect for this place.
