De Kleine Moghul 🇮🇳 — Restaurant in Groningen

I asked for a hot dish and the waiter warned me it is real hot not "turkish" hot (his words). But once we got our dishes it was completely mild not the slighest bit of hot (tabasco makes me sweat already and this didn't) and when asking the waiter about it he only said we swapped our meals while they put it that way on our table and her dish wasn't hot either maybe as hot as a bit of black pepper on your eggs. So they give us each others dish and lie about their food which I can handle, but also having an attitude about it is too much for me. total disappointment.

Also they forgot our raita order completely.

The food had a good taste in general, but will never eat here again.

I have been walking/cycling past this Indian restaurant De kleine Moghul for years without going in. Yesterday I decided to go in.

Here you can eat Indian food at reasonable prices. The surroundings are perhaps a bit simple and have been the same for years: Colourfully painted wooden simple tables and chairs.

You will be welcomed hospitably and friendly and it is quite popular. It is always busy so reservations are recommended. There is also a take-away option.

Authentic delicious Indian dishes, for example from the tandoori oven, curries, a wide choice of vegetarian, fish and meat dishes, oven-fresh nan and other side dishes, and typical Indian desserts. Those who like coriander and cardamom can enjoy...

The worst dinning out experience in Groningen and not recommended for family with small children. First of all, the waiter wanted us to change our choices because he said it would take 45 mins. After 1.5h, we still didn't get our food! Then the man started lying about what he said to us. Secondly, after almost 2h waiting, still no food. And people at other tables were also getting annoyed with their slow service. What sounded more like a joke is that we didn't get our food after 2h(had to leave because of our son's night time), then we had to pay for the water(one bottle) we ordered while waiting! Very disappointing and will not go...
