Restaurant Bla Bla — Restaurant in Groningen

Bla bla is a vegetarian restaurant and they have tons of vegan options! They can also make most vegetarian dishes vegan on request and the menu indicates that on the dishes. This place was recommended to me by another restaurant and I am thankful to that server for recommending this place.

It is a smaller restaurant and they were full booked when I went there but they were kind enough to allow me to order food for takeout. The food was ready in 10minutes and was super fresh!

I ordered the items under Nasi Rames (check photo) and everything was delicious. They had an English copy of the menu at the restaurant but I did not take its photo. The food is very flavorful. My dishes contained a salad with some sauce (containing peanut I believe), some chips, rice, coconut, spring roll, fried banana, jackfruit and a vegetable curry. I felt the portion size is quite big and the pricing was very reasonable. I paid only 21 euros for all this food.

I will probably return to Groningen for work and will absolutely visit this...

Lovely place! Really nice atmosphere, very cozy, small and intimate. The menu is quite small but good range of flavours, and all vegetarian with options of making it vegan. We had several small dishes, mediterranean, and one big plate of Asian/Indian for 3 people, each dish cost 20€ p.P. The desert options were also vegan friendly, and very nice! So probably not very good on a tight student budget but definitely if you want to treat yourself to a nice, intimate dinner (music was also very nice) and service was fast and friendly. I love this place. It's expensive, sure. And some of the tables might be better than others (near the door can be a little cold). But the food is great. I've been here with multiple meat lovers, and even my dad couldn't stop repeating 'This is great, there's no meat, but it's amazing!'.

Also; you get a lot of food for the main course, so I'd not recommend getting starters if you want a desert. I'm a desert person, the cinnamon ice-cream with liquor was amazing too - I wouldn't want to have...
