Mr. Dam 🇻🇳 — Restaurant in Groningen

The most authentic Vietnamese bread I have ever had in Europe. The bread is grilled on spot so it is warm and crunchy. The bread is also as thin as the ones I had in Vietnam, which you can barely find in any other restaurant. Filled with meat, pate, pickled, and sauce … the taste and ingredients are just as authentic as the ones sold in Vietnam (except for the mayonese but i am fine with this addition). I came to the store to order around lunch time. There were 6 staff and 3 self service ordering machines, the most well-equipped VN food stores I had ever seen in Europe. The only thing that could be improved is the work flow optimisation. They were packed with orders and forgot mine. However, the staff instantly fixed it after I reminded her. The cook (probably owner/manager) was also observant as he also proactively came to ask what my order was as he noticed that I stood there for a while. Would love to see their expansion to other cities so I can grab...

We got recommended this place for making banh mi "just like in Vietnam" which I cannot corroborate myself, however I can say that their banh mi is one of the best things I've seen anyone do to bread. They're satisfying, flavourful, and if you're the kind of person who looks at a sandwich of this size and thinks you can barely eat half, you just might find yourself devouring the entire thing before you even notice. We have not tried other things from the menu yet because the banh mi is just too tempting every time, but I'm sure we'll find the time someday! Happy to see that they've moved to a bigger place recently - they clearly have the traffic to support it! Lastly, there are free period products available in the bathroom, a very thoughtful thing I would love to see more...

The sandwiches are super tasty and nice! we had the one with shrimps and one with beef! they were filled nicely and with a good ratio. super tasty seasoning and lovely taste and texture! i can only recommend you to try it yourself! it will be worth it! unfortunatly we didnt make it to try the rest of the menu but we will do it next time for sure! i like that they have options for everybody.. as i dont eat meat i was able to have the shrimps and for vegans and vegetarians they have tofu and they also offer beef and chicken for everybody who enjoys meat. i think thats really nice. i like tofu .. but i also like having at least a second...
