I went here today with my girlfriend for a nice lunch. We ordered some tea and bread with humus and tzatziki to start and later some soup and shakshuka. First of all I would like to say that during our stay the two servers were on their phones the whole time. There was even a time where this guy was calling in the middle of the restaurant for at least 5minutes. So when the tea arrived (you pay €3,25 for a cup of some hot water and a teabag) we asked for sugar and honey while pointing at the sugar and honey. She only gave the sugar which were just sugar cubes in a pot without a spoon (pretty unhygienic if you ask me, especially when the pot is almost empty so you know there were at least 50 people touching my sugar before I consume it🤢). Then the humus and tzatziki arrived, there were two full bowls of dip with exactly 2 small slices of bread for 10 euros🤨. Immediately after this arrived they brought the soup for my girlfriend after which I had to wait for 20 minutes on my shakshuka. Of course the soup was already cold when my food arrived. In the meantime the servers where just standing there leaving al the empty plates on the table while chatting loudly with each other and on their phones. After we ate she came to the table to ask how the shakshuka was, I said it was ‘mwah’ because shakshuka is supposed to be eaten with bread and they again gave me only one slice of bread, and this girl answers ‘oh thats very nice, would you care to leave a review on google.’ So here I am leaving the restaurant with honestly my weirdest experience in a restaurant ever and leaving a review. I will never come back here again, and would strongly recommend to do the same. To give credits where credits are due the broccoli soup...
Read moreSadly, I can't give more than 3 stars. Let me explain why. When it comes to the atmosphere, cozy and cute interior design — this place deserves 5 stars. No doubt about that. However, the food was disappointing. Although it smelled nice and the taste wasn't terrible, from the very first bite, I had a feeling I was eating "powdered soup" — the kind of cheap, instant meal you just pour hot water over when you don’t have access to a real kitchen. Yes, there were some herbs and mushrooms added, but about 30 minutes later I started to feel discomfort in my stomach, and my belly became noticeably bloated. Honestly, I might as well have eaten canned food and had the same result.
I can’t speak for the other dishes, but based on my experience, I can only recommend this place if you’re looking for a spot to take pretty pictures. The service,...
Read moreMy new favorite spot in Haarlem! I loved everything about my experience: the staff was super friendly and kind, starting with a warm smile as you walk in. The food and drink selection is excellent: truly special meals giving a sense of homemade preparation even only by reading the menu. I was impressed by the attention to details and how they truly care about making even the most common things very special: warm tea was served with a selection of lemon and orange slices, and fresh mint - and bread came with a delicious oil-based sauce, olives and dried fruit. The main meal was a feast of flavors: SO delicious. Tiramisù and a homemade freshly baked coffee-flavored cookie were brilliant. The place itself is also splendid: a truly warm, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel very comfortable the entire time. I will...
