Food: South-Indian items are good and as close to authentic "restaurant" style as it gets. Can't say the same about north-Indian, as I didn't try much. I wouldn't visit this place for north Indian dishes though. Price and quantity is fair. Dining: Dining experience has been substandard, felt like an unwanted guest all three times I visited with subtly cold and rude vibes at times. None of those 3 times I was asked for my feedback whether everything was okay with the food or not, while all other tables (especially with non-Indians) were actively approached for their feedback. Noticed some bad taste with the "mini idli sambhar dipped" on my second visit, and politely mentioned this to the serving lady on my next visit, but was met with a very defensive eye and response with no apologies. Water is chargeable, which is unlike Indian tradition. Some other Indian restaurants in the vicinity serve water for free. Lastly, I think the food (south-Indian) is worth paying for once in a while, however, personally, this was my third and last visit to this restaurant. I...
Read moreFinally a place that serves 'Authentic' Indian food, whether south or north cuisine in Haarlem. I just move to the Netherlands from Namma Bengaluru and was really missing good Dosa and Filter Coffee and finally went yesterday to eat at Shree. Ah! The 1st bite of idli and sambar hit the spot ...we (me and my 8 year old daughter) ended up ordering two portions of idli vada, rava Dosa, Masala Dosa, Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream and finished everything. I even took some Dal Makhani, Bhindi ans Gajar ka Halwa for take away and it was brilliant. I think the difference here is that the owner has put in a lot of love ...all ingredients are fresh and one can taste it. I am going to be very regular customers and would highly recommend Shree to anyone who wants to have good Authentic...
Read moreSouth Indian food has arrived in Haarlem (finally) and it is delicious! The owners of Shree have created a beautiful space. The environment was cozy and well designed.
The menu is huge, covering the whole gamut of south and north Indian food, as well as Manchurian dishes.
The food was very good. Indian food is my favorite cuisine and the food was overall top tier. I had the masala chai, Rasam soup, Mysore masala dosa, samosas, and idli. The samosas were incredibly good, perfect filling, and among the best I've ever had. The Rasam was awesome and super spicy like it should be. The dosa was great.
By far and away the best Indian food I've had in Haarlem. My six year old who is really picky loved it and said we should come back. A rousing endorsement if I...
