Decent Stop at Bread! Schiphol Airport – Good Food, But Service Can Lag I stopped by Bread! during a long layover at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and it was an okay experience overall. Located airside near Lounge 2,it’s super convenient for transit passengers, just a short walk from the gates and close to the Sushi’s noodles shop. The setting is modern and welcoming, with a cozy vibe that’s nice for a quick meal or coffee break in the busy airport. The menu offers a solid range of options—sandwiches, salads, pastries, and hot dishes like burgers or pasta. I tried their signature sandwich, which was fresh and tasty, with high-quality ingredients like crusty bread and flavorful fillings. The coffee was decent too, perfect for a mid-layover pick-me-up. They also cater to dietary needs, with vegetarian and vegan options clearly marked, which is a plus. The self-service ordering via touchscreens was quick and easy, and the food came out relatively fast. However, the experience wasn’t flawless. The service felt a bit impersonal—staff were polite but seemed stretched, especially during peak hours, so getting their attention for questions was tricky. The prices also felt steep, even for an airport. My sandwich and coffee set me back around €18,which seemed high for what’s essentially a casual eatery. The seating area was clean. Overall, Bread! is a reliable choice for a quick, decent meal in Schiphol’s transit area, especially if you’re near Lounge 2,It’s not exceptional, and the price and service could be better, but it gets the job done for a layover. I’d stop by again if I needed something convenient, but I might explore other...

I don’t think I’ve ever been this disappointed in a restaurant establishment before.

The night shift girls are extremely rude.

They act irritated if you want to buy something (like a water) after you have waited patiently for them to even acknowledge you. Even then you’re barely noticed. I didn’t get spoken to other than to be given a total, I didn’t get greeted in any way shape or form. Then a separate time tried to smile at a different girl while walking by—totally ignored my presence. Then the third girl takes the cake. I tried to ask a question, she refuses to help and rudely shakes her head and mouths ‘no-can’t hear you’ and makes zero effort at any form of customer service. My husband and I bought a water and set up to spent the night at their open and EMPTY restaurant after we bought something and she RUDELY comes over and in a snippy tone and argumentative body language tells us to leave.

You know what? I would have kindly accepted your restaurants rules without problem if you weren’t so unbelievably rude. I also saw about 3 mice in this ‘restaurant’ alone (so far about 7 in this airport)and one was in the kitchen while the girl who took forever to notice me to check me out and then acted irritated I wanted to buy something (a bottle of water) was chopping lemons. If you don’t want to work night shift then don’t work here. And I would advise management to talk to the young girls about customer service and simply how to be gracious and kind. No one forced you to take a job at an...

We were looking for somewhere to grab a bite...

While waiting for our flight, we wanted to have a little something before boarding, we decided to go here based on location and space.

The location as i said, it was perfect, not to far from our gate and close enough so we could see all the information that we needed to.

The place itself was great, it has many things on sale, from your light things like breakfast bars to your cuppa Joe, there are a lot of seating around here too which is a plus.

The staff were nice, the couple of times we were served.

All in all, we were happy with...

I had a delicious smoked salmon sandwich made with their locally made and freshly baked bread. By locally I mean in loco. You can see the bread maker executing his skills. The salmon was fresh and tender, more flavorful than the ones we get back in the US. The sandwich also has fresh greens and dressing. I didn’t have it, but besides the creative sandwiches, there are nice pastries and beverages. My husband had their Greek yogurt with granola. He said he liked it too. The staff is very friendly and we can quickly be checked out and go enjoy our lovely food.
