I decided for Kebaya because it looked like a more calm, clean and less hectic place (compared to McDonald’s, BurgerKing, Subway…) before having a long distance flight. The entrance area is a bit confusing (two directions). They have an area where you can order via your own phone online or with a service person from a menue. That’s what the sign at least says. You are supposed to wait anyways for a person before taking a seat. After that challenge I got my seat at the sushi bar , the menue and had to wait a while before I was actually able to order. From this position you have a great view to the kitchen, the entrance and the airfield outside the giant windows! I was just waiting around 20/25 minutes which is absolutely okay for me but for a quick meal still too long. The food was tasting great and very fresh. Service was friendly and price as expected a bit higher than outside of an airport. Overall okay, but still not that calm as expected, maybe also related to the position of the restaurant. Most of the people were also not waiting to be seated and just walked through why it got a bit louder… there should be a person constantly taking care.

⭐ Rating: 2.5 / 5 I recently visited Kebaya Asian Brasserie after hearing mixed opinions, and unfortunately, my experience leaned toward the disappointing side. At first glance, the place looks quite nice — clean, neat, and well-maintained. Presentation-wise, the food also looked appealing and hygienic. However, the taste didn’t live up to the appearance. My dish arrived cold, and honestly, I don’t know who would enjoy eating cold rice and veggies that were supposed to be served warm. The rice was sticky, and although the vegetables on top had a decent flavor, the overall dish just didn’t work for me. Another downside was the service experience. The staff member at the counter wasn’t particularly friendly or welcoming. Interestingly, I did notice another staff member being quite polite and attentive to other customers, so it might depend on who you interact with. For the price point, I expected much better flavor and service. It’s definitely on the expensive side for what you get. While the place seems hygienic and well-kept, the food and customer experience didn’t justify the cost.

Terrible experience! This restaurant sells Asian food but is very unfriendly to Asians! We ordered a vegetarian ramen and did not ask for takeout. Then the lady gave me a paper bowl of noodles, so we sat down at a table in the restaurant. But another very unfriendly female waitress said we could not sit here because we took out food??? She told us to sit at the bar, but when we moved our seats to the bar, she drove us away to another corner of the bar, and we could not sit anywhere else in the restaurant! I was so angry! We did not say anything about taking out food from the beginning to the end, I just thought this restaurant used paper bowls because of environmental protection requirements. When we tried to communicate with the waitress, another male customer indiscriminately blamed us for not following the rules of their country, I must say, this is totally racial discrimination! At last we had to eat this terrible bowl of ramen on a chair in front of the boarding gate.

Thankfully we were not in a rush to catch our connecting flight because the service was so slow despite there being ample staff walking about—it seemed like the staff pawned off all the work onto 2 young women who were working there that day. The front section of the restaurant wasn’t even full, and the other section of the restaurant was completely empty excluding a few male servers who were all chitchatting. Moreover, the food was just ok & being Canadian I wasn’t shocked about how expensive a sit down meal at an airport would be but it was still pricy for the quality & flavour of the food we got. Speaking of which, I should have not finished the beef bulgogi I got as it had an odd sour taste I’ve never had before when I’ve tried this dish. Once arriving home in Canada I became so ill I’ve had to go to hospital to receive further treatment; while I’m not accusing this restaurant of food poisoning until I receive my test results back, I do find it oddly suspicious that out of all the food I’ve had at this airport, on KLM flights, or during my stay in central Europe…I only became ill after eating here. Hopefully there is another reason for my sudden illness otherwise this restaurant needs serious help; from poor service to mediocre food to potentially health and cleanliness practices. My parents dishes were fine but “a shame to these people’s cultures” as they said, probably because we have been spoiled in Canada with amazing, high quality Asian food from across the world and just expected better from such a nice looking &...

The spectacled Asian lady was unsmilling when she attended to me and my friends. After asking what language we spoke, she left and returned with a tablet menu but instead of letting us peruse the menu, she asked if we prefer noodles or rice. We asked her to let us look at the menu, at which point she explained how to order and quite strictly informed us to recheck our order before releasing to the kitchen; else, we have to pay for what we have ordered. During her explanation, my friend noticed the table was short of 1 set of cutlery and politely requested her to bring a set once she's done; she responded by saying yes she knows but she is busy explaining how to use the tablet. As a front line customer service provider, she should have replied in a better way and need I remind, service with a SMILE. Also, the price of the food there was not exactly cheap. The guy at the McDonald on the food court was much more friendlier and smiled despite being extremely busy with customers. Compared to Kebaya which had only a couple table of customers and definitely NOT busy. Needless to say, my friends and I left the restaurant immediately without ordering anything. Our meal at McD was so much more satisfying as the food was yummy, value for money and most importantly, there were FRIENDLY service (this review was not endorsed by McD :D). Lastly, I would have given a negative 5stars if I had the option...

Deceiving atmosphere. Don't be fooled by how mice the interior design looks like. The servitor lady was absolutely rude and unwelcoming. We were two, one of us got the food and the other had to wait for 15 mins only to discover that the shrimo soup was wrong. So we asked the lady to fix it, and so she brought it right back after one minute which she claims is an achievement while it was clear that they replaced the pork with shrimp on the same dish instead of cooking it fresh again. That resulted in a cold soup that we refused to carry on with this overpriced terribly tasting cold food. We were heading out with the food almost untouched, so she stops us asking us to pay for the table, so we asked her to wrap us one of the dishes but not the soup which we won't pay for. And even then and there she protested claiming she fixed it in one minute and demanding we eat it if she warms it up. We refused. Clearly this woman has no clue about restaurant business. She was angry and rude. When we finally paid, we asked for a receipt which she again had to make us wait for. We said PLEASE! If it is paper jam we leave without it! Thanks! It took a receipt printer to tell this servitor how bad it was for us. Anyhow the party to blame here is definitely owners and management, not the poor staff...
