Incredibly dangerous decision to get a Sandwich from JaJ with 20 mins until boarding time …
There was only a small queue so I figured it wouldn’t take that long.
Staff are unenthusiastic, slow and bored looking barely managing a basic politeness ( next to adverts saying “hate your job? Come join JaJ and have amazing colleagues you wanna hang out with )… but anyway the key point is: in an airport with time critical situation they should be warning when you order ; “we have a backlog and it can take 20 mins to get your food is that ok?”.
Instead I get increasingly nervous as the mins tick by and every man woman and child seems to be getting their order ahead of me.
I complain and magically my sandwich is next.
When I get it I have to run all the way to my gate eating it on the move.
It was very small for 8.1Euros and the bread crushed to thin piece of dry burned toast.
I like that it seems healthy option compared to the rest of airport but this service is unacceptably stressful to be on the other side of.
A simple warning about how long it takes should be mandatory in an airport.
I nearly missed my flight...

I’ve been using the Joe & The Juice app successfully for quite a while, mostly at locations in London. It’s usually a great way to order ahead, skip the queue, and pick up exactly on time.
Unfortunately, the Schiphol Airport location completely failed me. I placed and paid for an order in the app, scheduled for pickup at 06:05 — just five minutes after their advertised opening time (06:00). When I arrived, the shop was still closed. I waited until 06:18, but they never opened. I had to rush to my gate, empty-handed and frustrated (photo with timestamp attached as proof).
There was no way to contact the staff or the company directly. No help, no refund, no accountability. For a brand operating in an international airport, this is absolutely unacceptable.
Joe & The Juice: this is not just bad service, this is theft. Schiphol’s location seriously damages your brand. If this had happened in London, I’m sure it would’ve been resolved. Here? Just silence and a shuttered store.

Read moreAbsolutely shocking service. Last night at 7:45 pm I tried to place an order, but the staff refused me despite the store being advertised as open until 8 pm. If you state your hours online, you should actually stick to them.
To make matters worse, my flight was delayed, so I came back the next morning. The store was supposed to open at 6 am, but when I arrived it was still closed. I stood outside waiting, only for the staff to finally open up at 6:48 am—by then I was rushing to make my gate.
The staff were rude, unhelpful, and dismissive both times. For a brand that charges premium prices, this level of customer service is completely unacceptable. Don’t list opening hours if you can’t respect them.
I won’t be returning to this location, and I’d advise other travellers not to rely on it either—especially when you’re on a tight...
