The worst experience I've had in an airport restaurant.
Servers couldn't care less. Ordered drinks. 15 minute later no sign of them, the food has come before the drinks, the chicken burger was so overcooked and dry that it was inedible. I ate one bite and literally couldn't take another for fear of breaking a tooth. The chips were nice at least. I would have complained had I had the chance however me and my partner simply sat here with our plates and empty drinks for over 30 mins. By this point we just wanted to leave.
I looked over at our neighbouring tables many of them were still waiting to be severed, trying to get the attention of the dismissing staff, one guy actually got up and asked the chefs how do we order as they had been sat there for 20+ minutes without so much of a hello.
I finally managed to catch one of the servers and informed the server of the state of the Burger who couldn't care less, no apology just "what do you want me to do?" To their plus a replacement was offered however by this point of being ignored and having watched other similarly dry chicken burgers leaving the kithen I thought I'd save myself the jawache and just leave and go up to McDonald's, where I received much better service from their ordering machines.
I don't expect much from airport food but this was absolutely dire.
Avoid at all costs. Worst part is I spent over €20 on this...
Read moreINCREDIBLY DISSAPOINTED!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! The rudest cashier I had ever met! I ordered two coffees, two croissants and a bottle of water (which didn’t have a price on the shelf) the total came to €28 so I asked the cashier if I could see the bill so I could know the price of the water. The old lady cashier shook her head, put her hands in the air and told me “pay, pay, then you get a receipt” I asked her again to show me the bill, which she did in an angry way muttering comments under her breath. I then told her in Dutch “I am allowed to ask that you know” to which she told me my Dutch was awful. (This lady also spoke with a heavy accent when speaking Dutch) I am Dutch and was born here, although have lived in England for the past 20 years so my accent is probably a little unusual. I was completely shocked and confused at her reaction to my simple request and felt really disappointed as the Netherlands is so multicultural and we should be supporting everyone who visits/lives here to learn the language and be respectful of the country. I came away very angry at how rude and disrespectful...
Read moreLife has brought me the pleasure of frequenting Schiphol Airport, even though I wish alternatives were available. Was here on a weekday morning, solo. The places looked somewhat classy, but poorly cleaned.
Despite one of the electronic signs asking patrons to wait to be seated, staff informed me to pick a table myself. There is a paper menu but patrons orders and pay via the QR code on each table. There is option for tipping, why would management only make this available before any service is received?
I tried their vegan burger with seaweed, came with fries as standard. I had to take the slice of aubergine out myself due to allergies, as there was no option on the system to request it without. The fries came unsalted and probably unseasoned, which was appreciated as salt and pepper was available on the table.
And honestly, I think I have finally found the best dish available for non-meat eaters in the restricted areas of the airport....
