My wife and I were having a terrible experience at the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport because our flight had been cancelled and it had taken 2 hours to get us rebooked on another flight. We were on our way to the gate and found the food court and decided on McDonald's. We were dead-tired because of all the standing around we had to do getting rebooked and walking we had to do in the airport.
Our day was about to get better.
A young lady in a McDonald's uniform came by and asked if everything was alright. We said yes and the young lady, left.
About 5 minutes later, she came by again and asked if we needed anything. I was going to say no, but being so tired and our flight being 3 hours later, I asked if I could get a refill on my iced tea (with lemon) and she said "of course".
My wife and I finished our meal and were just giving ourselves a little rest until we had to trudge off to the boarding gate to sit around for a few more hours, when Miss McDonald's came by again to check on us.
As a business owner, I couldn't resist any longer. I asked her name and she replied "Kotka". Kotka's customer service had been so outstanding I wanted to know more. I asked if she was the manager. She said no, she is the hostess.
Wow, what a representative of their business McDonald's has! She sure acted like she was the manager. If she had looked a little older, I would have thought she was an owner.
Thank you for changing the trajectory of our day.

Read moreTERRIBLE AND STAFF ARE RACIST! If i could rate it any lower i would. I ordered a meatless chicken wrap and they gave me meat. I went up to complain about it and they laughed and started speaking dutch (which i dont understand) said "sorry we'll make you another one" continued to laugh then walked away. I then went up a second time as i didn't want to eat there again and wanted a refund and the manager proceeded to blame me for their messing up of the order and her staff did not apologise for laughing instead they stood their laughing whilst the manager spoke to me. The manager proceeded to tell me that "we are adults" and to "ignore them" (referring to her staff laughing at me continuously). I was refunded for the wrap alone ( not my meal) and overall the experience was horrible. As we were leaving one of the boys said "its your passport" by following that comment with the waving of a black woman's passport and laughing (i believe this was done to instil fear among me and my friends) The passport did not resemble anyone of my party at all. Read moreI went to McDonalds at Schiphol Airport around 11am and ordered fish and chips I was expecting a warm fresh meal but instead I received a cold tasteless burger that felt like it had been sitting out for hours It was honestly disgusting and not what you expect from a global brand
I also ordered a strawberry milkshake for my son but he dropped it by accident I went to ask a staff member if a cleaner could help and they told me I have to clean it myself I was shocked This is one of the busiest airports in the world and there are cleaners on duty What are they doing if they cannot help with basic things like this
A few minutes later a cleaner did come and clean the area but by then I had already been told to clean it myself which made no sense Then they gave me two new milkshakes One was half full and the other one tasted like it had expired It had a sour smell and made me feel sick
This was honestly one of the worst experiences I have had at McDonalds Cold food unhelpful staff and low quality drinks I hope someone in charge takes this seriously because it is not...
