I visited this restaurant a month or so ago. There was no need for a reservation, which was nice.
Due to my various food intolerances and my girlfriend being vegan, we usually carefully choose restaurants in advance. This also somewhat limits the options we have for eating in every city we visit. We understand it's difficult to satisfy the vegan on one side and the soy-gluten-nuts-dairy-what-not-intolerant-meat-eater on the other side.
This one seemed like a good choice, with several good vegan options. And I'm happy with marinated spare ribs.
I try to avoid bothering the staff with my food requirements, so I mentioned food intolerances more as a throwaway comment. The waitress immediately took it upon herself to ask the cook if any of these foods were in marinade and sauce. Unfortunately, it turned out they were.
She offered that they make (for the same price) some beefsteak and chicken thigh fillets with vegetables. I was positively surprised and glad they would do that. She also brought me a gluten-free bun, so they were really thinking about everything. When I thanked her, she brushed it off by saying: "It's not your fault you have food intolerances, and you're here...it's normal that we do that."
Only this service would be deserving of five stars. And the food was also excellent. Chicken thighs were very soft and tasty (one of the best I tasted), and the steak and vegetables were very good, too.
The same goes for the vegan burger and fries with vegan mayo.

Read moreKomen er net vandaan. Ik ben in principe een voorstander van niet-reguliere werknemers die middels subsidie toch aan de bak kunnen. Maar, daar moet wel enige vorm van kwaliteit tegenover staan en niet een voorgerecht met hard oud gesneden brood (oke dat zien we even door de vingers op dat moment) dat eigenlijk al vrij lag duurde. Daarna hebben wij anderhalf uur zitten wachten op twee exact dezelfde bestellingen namelijk een visgerecht. Na een uur wachten werd ons gemeld dat de vis was gevlogen in de keuken en dat deze er over een minuut toch aan zou komen. Toen de vis (slechts één visgerecht ipv twee) eindelijk kwam (weer veel en veel later) bleek deze niet eens gebakken en ook de groente was nog koud. Hooguit is dat gerecht een half minuutje in een magnetron gezet.
Ik geef mensen en restaurants zeker het voordeel van de twijfel maar dit kan echt niet!
Goed, nagenoeg niets gegeten maar het personeel was zo aardig om ons te ontzien van de rekening!
