The food here is great. But the place is just a rip off with mediocre service standards. The waitress was very nice, don't get me wrong, but the dishes cost 17 Euros which is quite pricey, and when I went for the first time I ordered one curry dish and got one bowl of rice to eat with it. The second time I went, I ordered two curry dishes (we were two people) and got the exact same bowl of rice (same as the one portion curry) and when we ordered another bowl of rice for the second curry they charged 3.50 for the "extra" bowl which should just be standard. Absolutely ridiculous--there should be one portion of rice for one portion of curry.
Another story: The first time I went, I ordered tap water without ordering another drink. Totally fine, we got our tap water and had our food. The VERY next day, we tried ordering tap water with our food and were forced to order a drink from the menu. They would not give us tap water despite having done so the previous day. I find this a bit ridiculous, but if that's your restaurant policy, fine. But you can't flip flop on your service offerings from one day to the next and allow it one day and then not the other. Vanavond voor het eerst gegeten n.a.v. de overwegend positieve reviews. Ik kan begrijpen dat veel mensen het eten hier lekker vinden. De kaart is gevarieerd en biedt voor elk wel wat wils. Qua smaakbeleving vonden wij het minder verheffend. De kok is weliswaar een authentieke Thai aldus de achterkant van menukaart, maar dat betekent niet automatisch dat het een geweldige kok is. Het bleek in ieder geval niet direct uit de gerechten die wij besteld hadden.
De curry was goed op smaak maar de aardappelen erin net iets te hard. De garnalensoep erg scherp maar niet als zodanig aangegeven op de kaart. De pad thai (die men aanvankelijk vergeten was te serveren) dusdanig te zoet dat we een half bord hebben laten staan. En wij zijn gek op pad thai.
Qua bediening, logistiek en gastvrijheid kun je ook merken dat men nog niet erg ervaren is. Een glimlach bij ontvangst, vragen of je iets wilt drinken bij het opnemen van de bestelling; het is vrij simpel maar we hebben het gemist vanavond. De gasten achter ons moesten meerdere malen vragen naar hun drinken alvorens het te krijgen. Lag dus niet per sé aan ons.
Overall hebben we een gezellige avond gehad, maar we stonden na een uurtje wel weer buiten. Deels omdat er geen dessertkaart is, maar ook omdat mijn tafelgenoot last kreeg van buikpijn.
