Fire Cafe — Restaurant in Leeuwarden

❌DO NOT SIT AT THE TABLE OPP THE BAR❌

Currently, they have a sewage problem and my party and I were not informed about the stench when we were sat down. It was horrendous. Only when I went up to the Manager, Paul, did he say there was a problem. Additionally, they did not even assist us in finding an available table when people left even though I mentioned it to various wait staff incl Paul. We had to find one ourselves.

After we moved tables, people kept coming in and sitting on the table but none of the wait staff told them about the seat. Poor folks had to go through what we did so I went up and told them they should leave / find another table because of the sewage stench.

After we were done, I wanted to speak to Paul with regards to our experience at Fire Cafe but he did not show up to speak to us but sent a young wait staff to politely say that they couldn’t do anything. Really disappointed that he did not have the courtesy and respect for his customers to apologize to us.

It seems like they have known about the problem for days so they could have put a sign / warn customers who sit there that there is a stench, but...

Reservation made a week prior seemed to overtax employees. After several minutes of waiting an alternative was offered, none of the wishes from the reservation were considered. We asked for a table for two for an anniversary dinner, and were offered a shared couch space. The second alternative was presented unlovingly and seemed to inconvenience the employees. When we informed the waitress that we would rather pass on our reservation she prematurely removed herself from the conversation and attended to other guests. This felt slightly rude. No harm done, just a lesson learned and a little disappointed after a very friendly employee in the week prior encouraged us to reserve and made us look forward to a cozy...

Waitress talks to colleague instead of cleaning our table which is dirty and full of glasses from previous guest. Then first cleans table next to us where no one is sitting. When she takes glasses from our table does not even wipe over the sticky table and leaves the ashtray full with old sigarres. I order ice caffe with no whipped cream and receive a half empty glass. At least use a smaller glass so it does not look empty maybe? When I clean the table myself she still does not realise it might be nice she gives me a hand.
