El Fierro — Restaurant in Leiden

According to my own experience this is the only one restaurant in NL with a real well cooked steak! I’m comparing it with a steak which I had in Buenos Aires (where I lived for a while) - yes, in this restaurant you can have a real Argentina steak. Exceptionally well cooked. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We was there with family for a dinner after museum and my child 8 years old had a steak - he loved it and he completely finished his meal. Me and my husband took ribeye steak and cooked vegetables as a side dish - was very good. House wine is nice too. Salad bar does’t look good so we won’t use. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very pleasant: warm, but not hot, good ventilation. the restaurant was full but not noisy. we reserved a table. We had the ribs. Worth every cent. They were the best ribs I’ve eaten in 20 years. The Amsterdam ribs tasted like American ribs taste to me- nice and a little sweet. My husband had the spicy and I took a bite and my lips were burning for 5 minutes! But they were delicious. I just can’t handle spicy food. The baked potato was a typical European baked potato and I wish we would have ordered the fries. I was jealous when I saw the waitress carry fries to another table. But look- this meal was so fantastic that I am considering going again in two days at the end of our trip. I want more of those ribs. We had a steak there on our first evening of a four night stay in Leiden. Both our meals were excellent... so good that we went back on our last night for the ribs despite having lots of other eating place choices in Leiden. Again, the meals were excellent, 'help yourself salad' nice and fresh. Also the restaurant was very comfortable and calm and the service was perfect... non-intrusive and very friendly.
