I try out my fair share of coffee places, first time visiting this one in Leiden. Why not get a coffee, I think.
Well I tell you why not. FOUR EURO FIFTY CENT for a flat white? Amsterdam prices in Leiden, really? And I wouldn't mind as much if it was good. But it wasn't. That was one of the worst cups of takeout coffee I had in a while. Oof. Flushed more than 3/4rd of it down the drain and off to get something worthwhile.
EDIT: 7 months after the fact the owner takes down the original response that implied I was lying about the price I paid and changed it to the response below. In the meantime I am clearly not the only one who had a bad time there, judging by the other reviewers of this place. I strongly suggest for LUPI team to put some of that energy and effort used in hounding people online into improving the things that were pointed out in the reviews by other customers and move along. The coffee was good. The croissant was good but very simple. It was an ordinary ham and cheese croissant, so don't expect any fancy croissants. The banana cake was nothing special; it was just okay, but I wound not order it again.
