We had our first visit this spring and were super happy, and wanted to do the second visit, hoping for the same good experience Damn we were disappointed I wanted to try the monkfish, as that was the one I had the last time The others wanted to try a menu that included the catch of the day, a piece of Skate wing The food arrived, but the monkfish was horrible undercooked, I called the waitress and brought it to her attention. Then she talked to me as if I've never had monkfish before, trying to tell me it's a tough fish and it's like a steak. I told her that I've eaten it before and this wasn't the way to serve it, she then took it back to the kitchen. After about 2 minutes, she came back and said that the kitchen agreed with me, and that they'd make a new one. The Skate wings were correctly cooked, but very tasteless, some capers were shuffled on the side that could be used to give it some flavour While I was eating my monkfish that arrived just before the others had finished their fish, the waitress came to us and said that as a competition for the missed monkfish, they would offer dessert and drink When I had finished my monkfish, a second waitress came and asked the two who had dessert in the menu, what they wanted, cheese or something sweet They both wanted something sweet, so the waitress suggested different chocolate mousse for them to choose and they ordered coffee as well While waiting for the dessert we were wondering how the compensation would work When the check came I asked what kind of compensation that was given She replied that the coffee was free, and that the moouse wasn't a part of the menu, she didn't say what was a part of the menu We were thinking about going there a third time, but now I think that I won't go back there, it's just to pricey when you look at...
Read moreUnfortunately we had a bad experience 2 days ago. We ordered 2 starters and one of the priciest mains. One of the starters was nice although drowning in oil. The second one was a Tuna tataki that smelled bad, had a pale color and had no taste. That dish was removed from the table almost uneaten, a fact that did not make any of the staff curious as to why. The main dish was the biggest sea food plate, with boyillon. The half crab was not fresh, with only half of it with eatable flesh. Another kind of crab was in very small pieces and with no flesh to eat. The langustines were ok. Unfortunately the bouillon was not prepared in the kitchen, but rather from a powder, and had no taste. The staff also explained that other than cooking in hot water, there is no seasoning added. Overall a bland, expensive, unfresh dish. We didnt stay for dessert. Nobody came to try and ask about our experience which was obviously bad, as also the main dish went back to the kitchen half eaten. Very unprofessional place for people who know their sea food and had them in other countries. Sadly, we will not be going back, for the quality of food and the fact that...
Read moreLes 3 seaux is beautifully situated at Maastricht's tiny city harbor 'het bassin'. It's just a 5 min walk away of the busy city center and really worth a visit.
This fish restaurant serves fresh seafood like lobster, oysters and a variety of shellfish. The food is tasty and the chef is not afraid to add an original twist to dishes.
The fish platter and oysters we ate were amazing and a nice wine selection was available to accompany them. We sat outside on the terras and service was excellent.
Prices of the food are more than reasonable considering the sea is not nearby. Eating at a fish restaurant is always slightly more expensive. Drinks are priced averagely...
