AH Helmstraat — Local services in Maastricht

I went to the Albert heijn on helmstraat and got extremely disrespected and mistreated. I went there to buy a bottle of Hugo, I am over the age of 18 and had my ID with me. As I was standing in the queue for the self scan one of the employees came up to me and forcibly grabbed the bottle of Hugo out of my hand, without asking for my ID and said “Do I look stupid to you little girl” and as I tried to explain to her that I have my ID with me she told me that I should’t even bother to argue my case since it was pointless. She then proceeded to be intensely aggressive with me to the point where I felt threatened. This scenario shouldn’t happen to anyone and this employee shouldn’t be able to keep her job. I went back into the store to ask her for her name since I wanted to lodge a complaint she proceeded to be extremely aggressive and discriminatory with me. I will never go back to this store as I felt extremely unsafe and unwanted. I hope no one else will experience this and that stern measures will be taken against...

This Albert Heijn is decently sized, especially considering its very central location, right in the heart of Maastricht. There's a fair selection of items available, and despite always being busy, enough checkout tills are open to avoid endless waiting line scenarios. Staff is very friendly, too.

Unfortunately, the layout is very confusing, unless you're going for the most basic goods. You might need quite a few runs through the aisles in order to find specific items, and some really basic ingredients, such as flour, are either very well hidden, or nowhere to be found.

Unless you're looking for specific products that cannot be found in similar stores, I would pick another cheaper and better organised alternative for a basic...

this albert heijn has a very hostile and uncomfortable environment that causes a great deal of stress for the shoppers. the workers are extremely strict and seem to think you are trying to steal every time. they stand over you the whole time you're at the self-scan like dementors. it makes me feel paranoid and like i am a criminal or stealing or something when i'm just trying to scan my groceries in peace. this albert heijn is very small and not very well stocked. i have often not been able to find my cereal or snacks that i usually have no issue finding in other ah locations. not to mention it is very expensive and it's not justified with the...
