Maybe yesterday was an exception as another event was catered by the restaurant at the same time and everyone seemed stressed and overworked..... I understand that the staff was not trained well in addition to high workload. Several times food was brought to wrong tables (not only us also other customers), drinks were coming late, then paired wining half an hour before next food was served....waiter being clumpsy, ... staff not looking at customers when talking to them (a guy was looking at the sky constantly), staff is not to undertsand by talking so quietly or with poor English, waiting for an hour between courses..... but what made it all worse was the boss disciplining his staff harshly in front of the customers and being super hectic himself making everything deteriorate even more. I mean let people be trained properly and they will deliver... it seemed to be students that were pulled into a fine dining... Yesterday noone seemed to know where they were at in their dinner sequence and which table had ordered what. The waitress kept replenishing wine to make up for extreme long waiting periods between courses...
So what was meant to be a nice dining experience was unfortunately none. The food was good - presentation very nice - taste was good. Portions too small, bread not replenished... Sad.... as the setting is very nice. I can imagine that on another day the whole place can be a good experience. Not sure though if I wanna give it another try. I am usually not writing bad reviews like this...and am not...
Read more"I had high expectations for a Valentine’s dinner at this restaurant and went out of my way to book a month in advance, specifically requesting a nice table with a great view and a memorable ambiance. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were seated upstairs in a small, plain room that felt nothing like the vibrant and romantic atmosphere I had hoped for. The entire experience felt like a far cry from what I imagined, with no view of the chefs at work or the beautiful design, the table was cramped and faced a wall, completely ruining the vibe.
When I asked if we could move downstairs to one of the nicer tables, I was told they were all taken. This was incredibly frustrating, considering I had specifically requested a special table well in advance. I didn't want to ruin the evening for my girlfriend, so I reluctantly accepted, but the ambiance was so off that it completely killed the mood for what was supposed to be a romantic evening.
I spent €400 that I worked very hard for, hoping to give my girlfriend the best experience, and instead, I felt completely let down. This restaurant clearly didn’t value my request or the special occasion, and I’m extremely disappointed that they allowed this to happen. It’s hard to shake the feeling that my effort and money were completely...
Read moreVisiting Maastricht we had on our bucket list a visit to Restaurant Rozemarijn. The experience surpassed our expectations from the moment we reached the door, located in a historical house in the design area of the old town of Maastricht we were received by the team from chef Jeroen Raes in a very friendly and professional manner in a cozy ambience. The Easter menu was, as you can expect from a chef at this level, full of culinary surprises and delicious flavors. The wine pairing they offered us with this five course menu was outstanding taking us on a tasting travel from German to South African White wines to an Argentine red wine for our main course (lamb) and finishing of with a Riesling dessert wine. The price of 85 euro for this five course menu with wine pairing was totally worth this outstanding experience and they deserve the reputation the have obtained over the years. Our appreciation to Chef Jeroen and his team. Highly...
