As a student when I first started coming here I thought, 6.50 for a sandwich, what a steal. When they raised the price to 7.50 the next year, I figured, well that’s probably what I’d expect to pay anyway. When they raised the price this year to 8.50 I thought, well now it’s just for special occasions.
Well the special occasion came, and after our exams we decided to treat ourselves to a la paco. We usually get it take-out but this time we decided to sit on their terrace. What a mistake. First some guy at the table beside us (who apparently works there but is off the clock) brings us someone else’s sandwich. He apologized. Okay whatever simple mistake.
Then the waitress drops some random fish on our plate without asking. Well nobody came back and after letting this random fish bake in the sun we thought okay let’s not let it go to waste. Everything on their menu is decent so we will try it and pay on the way out. It was good and we thought wow let’s definitely get this next time.
Well before we even got up from our seats the owner came telling us that the fish was intended for the next table. Okay fair enough. Then he rudely reminded us we have pay for it, as if we were going to leave without paying. Making us feel bad for a mistake his staff made. We were just sitting there, did you think we were going to steal?
There’s a way to handle this. How is the guy who is not even on the clock MORE professional than the girl who left us some random fish without asking if it was ours and the owner who made us students feel like thieves when we are loyal customers.
We used to always spread a good word about a la paco and recommend it to whoever came to town. What a shame because this just left such a sour taste in our mouths. After this we are not planning on coming back, we’ll spend our special...
Read moreThis place should have five stars BUT the blonde woman who works behind the till had such a bad attitude with me today, ruining my lunch. As it was a warm day I asked the very nice waitress if I could have my coffee iced, she went to check and came back saying to order a normal coffee online through the qr code and add a comment that I wanted it with ice. When I was served the coffee it was luke warm so I went to the woman at the counter to ask if she could add more ice. She responded “you’re supposed to pay for the ice” (surprising in itself), to which I tried to explain that I had expressly asked and had been told to do it this way. She insisted that I shouldn’t be given more ice because I hadn’t paid for the ice (despite me explaining that I had expressly asked her colleague). She then SCOFFED at me. I walked away, still with a warm coffee. She was rude and arrogant and ruined what would have otherwise been an excellent meal. The only thing that made up for it was the brilliant waitress who brought me more ice! I love this place - such a shame it was ruined by such a rude and...
Read moreThe food was good, can’t complain about that. However, the costumer service did not meet the standards. 20 minutes after we ordered, a server came to our table with the wrong order. We corrected her and nicely told her our right order. Afterwards the waitress came with the wrong order again, dropped it on our table and walked away (didn’t get the chance to say anything). After we waited 15 minutes for them to come back and maybe take their wrong food back, no one came. So we ate the wrong order, with the intention of paying afterwards! Then suddenly the boss of the place, comes up to us and tells us in an aggresive tone « you will pay, you ate it so you will pay. It was’t meant for you, so you will pay ».
This is a unprofessional way to handle a mistake your staff made, twice. And, it is disrespectful to talk to clients in this way, assuming that we are thiefs. We were loyal costumers, but this absolutely does not make us want to put a foot in this...
