Stadsbrouwerij Maastricht — Restaurant in Maastricht

We walked up right as they opened and were welcomed and invited to sit wherever we pleased on their patio. We sat at one of the many tables with a fantastic view across the meuse river to part of Maastricht's beautiful skyline. we had a blast learning about Maastricht and the brewery's beer from Xavier who sat and helped serve us. He shared a lot of neat information about the brewery and was confident in the beers he suggested which were all fantastic. The first beer he told us we should try was the Mergal Wit and I agree with him. Anyone visiting must try it. Mergel wit was my favorite out of the many fantastic beer we got to try. The food we ate was a fantastic example of regional fare, and the beers were incredibly good. We detoured from exploring Germany to visit Maastricht and this brewery stands out as one of the best beer experiences of a trip with many great beer highlights. The friendly service and clear pride in their high quality beers and very fun location really makes this brewery stand out as a must visit for lovers of beer exploring this area of Europe. After my second great visit in two days, I decided to leave a review. Stadsbrouwerij Maastrict is in a great location along the river. They have lots of tables in a well setup outdoor patio. The indoor section is also warm and welcoming. They have several dining areas to accommodate all types of groups and patrons. The staff were really attentive both days, even though both nights were busy. I had good conversations with staff, one of which turned out to be the owner. I honestly like that kind of personal touch. I had two bar snacks: bitterballen and chicken strips. The portions were very good and both were hot and delicious. The beer is excellent. I tried the Mergel Wit, De Maltezer (amber), De Eigenzinnige Elisabeth (tripel), which are brewed by them. The tripel was especially good. I also had some guest tap beers, and all were great too. I will go one more time before I leave in a few days. When I come back to Maastrict, I will be going often....

Exceptional service, fantastic beer, and tremendous location. It was the first place we visited in Maastricht that was playing Dutch music. Xavier, the manager, was wonderful. His food recommendations, the croquettes, were spot on, and he expertly walked us through their beer offerings whilst training an intern (who was also great). Too, they have a dumbwaiter inside at the bar. Dumbwaiter, for those not familiar with the English word, describes a lift, or elevator for food. I thought it was very cool they had one at the bar but, unfortunately and funnily, had to describe that the English term "dumbwaiter" didn't refer to a member of the staff ("No, he's just new, he's an intern."). Thank you for making my and my daughter's experience exemplary. This place deserves to be the Maastricht...
