I will try to explain a bit the situation: yesterday it was my birthday and invited my friends to some shots. I ordered to a young waiter 20 shots as he prefer but cheap and 5 of the without alcohol. The 5 without alcohol he served of water but I complained and although he was rude he put another thing. The bill was most expensive that I suppose so I asked him, he told me " It is your fault, If you don´t know the price" but the cheapest it is 2.5 and the bill was most expensive but that can be my fault because I did not say correctly. As he was angry with me he put the two trays in the counter and he left me alone with them, I called him and he came back very rude and said "what do you want a fit?" and I said no, I only need help I cannot carry two trays. He put the two trays very impolite in the table with my guests and I told him that if he had have a bad day it was not my fault I only asked him for help.
When I realise that one of the shot was of water, I spoke with another waiters but she was nice and she tried to help me but she could not.
My friend and I spoke with another waiter who was nice but I think that his only goal was tried to avoid this bad review, he tried to invite to my friend and me to a drink, but we only wanted to speak with the young waiter about his behaviour.
The young waiter came and he only touch in our shoulders and say "Merry Christmas" "you are right and I am wrong " and literately he started to said "bla bla bla" in front of us and when we turned back around he started to make face but one of our friend saw it and he started to complaint to another waiter, who only said " sorry, sorry and tried to calm us down.
I am sorry for his collegas because although they did not care my situation at least they were polite but we will never come back and we will never...
Read moreJohn mullins is a lovely place, that offers a huge varieties of beers and a nice ambience. However, one of the waiters is disrespectful. After having spend a nice evening at the pub, the rest of the night was ruined by the waiter and his rude behaviour. I order an Aperol spritz which according to the menu (which was handed over to me by one of the waiters) cost 6.50€. When the time to pay came, the weighter told me that i had to pay 7.50€ instead of 6.50€. When I asked for explanation he told me in a very aggressive tone "the price is 7.50 and not 6.50. Look at the price board over the counter next time". Having said, so i told him that i wanted to pay the price which was stated in the menu as it contains all of the pub's prices. He replied in a rude and aggressive way by shouting "Don't pay and don't come back". I ended up paying the full price because I am a decent person that doesn't want to make a fuss over 1€, however the waiter cannot be described as a decent person. As a representative of the pub he should make the customers feel welcome and at home, but he does the exact same opposite. Although being more than 30 years older than me, he showed a lack of maturity and respect. Before working in a business learn how to treat a customer and how to behave accordingly to hospitality rules...I think a politeness course would suit you well. PS: i'm very disappointed in having to give John Mullins a one star review because it truly deserve a 5/5 stars, but my experience as a costumer was completely ruined by the waiter's attitude. I'm not the only one to complain about this issue so pay attention. Please for next time try to keep the menu up to date because i want to avoid such...
Read moreIncredibly rude and aggressive waiter (and bad pool table)
We didnt get his name, but he's the younger, skinny, black haired one.
After an apparent misunderstanding with an order of shots (in which he was asked to pour the cheapest kind and he ended up puring the 2nd to most expensive) he reacted in an aggressive way asking litteraly "do you want to fight?!" to my friend who only wanted to buy some shots for her friends on her birthday and needed help carrying the trays from the bar to the table.
Tip for the waiter: if you cant hear right because of the music, just ask for the person to repeat what they said.
We asked to speak to the manager, which was very kind and polite, but no measures were taken regarding the violent attitude of the waiter.
We tried speaking to the waiter again calmly to just let him know he should not treat his customers this way, and with his rude attitude he said "I don't care, and you can't complain to anyone about it".
Besides this, just as an extra, if you like playing pool, this isnt your place. The game is expensive, theres a ball missing, the table is completely uneven, and theres only one pool cue with no tip and no chalk.
Despite the efforts of the manager, or person in charge, who was extremely nice, after this experience I will never go back herr, and sincerely do not recommend this pub.
There are many other awesome places nearby in which you'll feel way...
