Setting: Thursday evening, 20.00 , not too busy.
We would definitely come back to eat here. The only meal that was too salty and had deep fried parts was the appetizer with spicy chicken in a small deep fried bowl .. However, all the other appetizers were excellent and the main courses were truly delightfully delicious and prepared well. Presentation was nice too. Portions were good. Cocktails, soft drinks and coffee were very nice. The sorbet ice was excellent. Service was .... Well, our server seems to need a bit more training in making the diners feel welcomed. She looked a bit 'stressed' and rushed or we felt a bit rushed when were giving our orders. The other lady, the receptionist who sat us, was very pleasant and friendly; she helped to serve and take dishes away even though her rushed coworker forgot a plate, the reception server came a few minutes later to clear a place for our dessert. So, the manager may want to watch that young strawberry-blonde around beginning 20s (didn't get her name because she never introduced herself and just asked us what we 'wanted' to eat. We know Dutch can be very direct but ...uh hum...we were there as guests, not to bother her. We spoke both Dutch and English, but she still had little to say. She did apologize after giving an alcoholic drink to our daughter when she ordered a mocktail. She had one sip, said it tasted bitter and so I tasted it -alcohol! and at that moment, the waitress came to tell us she made a mistake. Fortunately, our daughter was not allergic to alcohol. The waitress apologized and let us keep the alcoholic drink at no extra cost. The mix-up didn't really bother us but this is also why it felt that she wasn't really listening carefully to us. Ultimately, we really enjoyed our food a great deal and it was a pleasant atmosphere too. The asian carpaccio was quite nice. The torneado was perfect. Sincerely, we enjoyed our meals. Compliments to the cooks . The atmosphere was very nicely decorated and there is sufficient light without being too bright. Just right.
If I may give a tip: I think it is wise to offer a Moscato on your list...I was disappointed because I asked her for a Moscato (very sweet wine) but she said they didn't have Moscato, but they had a house wine that was very sweet. I asked her if it was really a very sweet wine like Moscato, and she said it was, but it was definitely not a very sweet wine. Either she doesn't know Moscato or she thinks sweet and sour is very sweet. It is not. I should have not ordered it. My own fault. Moscato is a Moscato....not just any house wine. Still, we all really liked the restaurant and we especially enjoyed the food. We would come back...
Read moreMy friend and I had a wonderful experience in Humphrey. Staffs are super friendly, always there if you need their support, fast and professional. When there was a mistake in our starter order, they appologised and prepared another dish quite fast. That's a reason why I had 3 pictures of Starter ;) we didn't taste the Mussels au gratin but the plate is so beautiful so I took a picture. So it's totslly worth for the service you paid here! Wine: we ordered Red wine- Merlot, which is a but tangy to me, but i really love the fruity it lasted in my taste Food: I saved the best for the last, I'm completely satisfied with the 3 course menu that we had. With Starter, the salmon is so juicy and just cooked properly, the sour of the salad within the dish brings the balance to the overall experience. The smoked shiitake tartare is delish as well, meat and mushroom are well seasoned, the crunchy crackers match perfectly. Main dish: I personally like the chicken the most in mixed grill, super juicy. My friend's fish fillet is good but the veggies taste does not match with the dish a lot, besides that the fillet+smashed potato+sauce are combined greatly. Dessert: i like the chocolate fondant more, which is bitter, as I don't prefer sweet too much but the two desserts are good choices for ending our journey experience at Humphrey. Plus: it's my friend belated birthday dinner so the restaurant brought a firework candle for us to celebrate, which is nice. The ambiance and interior design is cozy, but it would be perfect if there is something cover the pipes on the ceilling and the ceilling become higher; which makes the space seems bigger and more comfortable ;) In the end, It's a great and worth experience in Humphrey. You won't be regretful for the time in...
Read morewe came in for a romantic valentine’s day dinner with my dear girlfriend. ❤️ i do love the holiday or valentine’s day, especially after my divorce from my husband and finding love again with my partner. 😍we reserved a table online in advance to celebrate the occasion and we’re so happy that we chose humphrey’s restaurant to celebrate valentine’s day. we ordered the three course menu, which had a vegan option for each course: starter, main and dessert! id say my favorite was definitely the starter which was vegan crispy chicken with a salad. the chicken was indeed very crispy and so well seasoned. 🥰unfortunately we were too full got dessert but the desserts we saw coming out looked fabulous! my girlfriend also really loved her starter which was a lobster soup. we were given complimentary prosecco and bread with spreads upon our arrival and lovely service from the staff! we also got their special valentine’s day cocktails which were so delish! unfortunately not strong enough to get us tipsy 🤣will definitely coming back to celebrate the next special...
