Horizons Lounge — Restaurant in Oranjestad (city)

HIGHER than 5 Stars! We stayed a block away at the larger resort, came over to the bar on the Amsterdam Resort Property after having lunch at your Passions beach front restaurant on our 2nd day. WOW! better drinks [larger/stronger/served in real glass not paper cups] made by better staff than our place. We absolutely loved Brooklyn, Ruthie & Leo. We made it our regular stop for much of our 1 week stay! We would stop about 4-5pm pre-supper then after supper or nightcap on our way to our place in the evenings.

You have a great view, the property is clean and if the resort dining was open we probably would have stayed to eat! I can't say enough good things about the three folks who took care of us, they really made us feel like regulars. The music was good [I did some DJ'n on the sound system] and we always had a great time.

Happy hour is an even better deal if that was even possible from 5-7pm. We had so much fun that the next time we visit we will be staying at your place. Its a great location and I can see many resort improvements/upgrades/maintenance that is on-going.

Keep those three at all costs! They were a huge reason we kept coming back all week long. I could tell they love their work! Finding drinks anywhere is easy, its the staff that makes a place special [or not]. Say hi to them for us! We miss them already!

A few ideas: Extend happy hour later evening like 9-10pm. Do some live music across the street or resort bar a couple nights a week. Get the resort dining up and running again.

This place does not get enough hype. First, Elvis the bartender is impeccable. There is no exaggeration. Second, the food is excellent and seasoned to perfection. I’m beyond impressed that this is a hotel restaurant because of all the places we’ve visited while here, the food, service, view, energy, and live music was not comparable to any of the other 5 star restaurants we visited in Aruba. This is a hidden gym. Definitely check it out!!! We got the wings, calamari, and shrimp spaghetti. Our drinks were the chefs (Elivis’ choice) with tequila. One of the best tequila drinks I’ve ever had....

Such a fun place! We did happy hour every night from 5:30-6:30 before walking across the street to watch the sunset on Eagle beach. Had a few beers (dad), fun fruity drink (mom) and smoothies and mock tails (kids). We also enjoyed the complimentary peanuts which tied over the hungry kids. Lizbeth was so friendly and Elvis made amazing and creative drinks. Happy hour is 1/2 price so very reasonable. We especially enjoyed the live music on Monday and Wednesday. She is so talented.
