Eagle Beach in Aruba is consistently ranked as one of the best beaches in the world, and for good reason. It offers a spectacular experience characterized by pristine white sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and a plethora of activities that cater to all types of travelers. Here’s an extensive review of what makes Eagle Beach a must-visit destination.

Scenic Beauty and Atmosphere

Eagle Beach boasts an expansive shoreline with powdery white sands that are impeccably clean and soft to the touch. The beach is lined with iconic fofoti trees, which are not only picturesque but also provide natural shade. The clear, calm waters of the Caribbean Sea are perfect for swimming and wading, making it an ideal spot for families with children.

The atmosphere at Eagle Beach is serene and relaxed. Unlike some of the more crowded beaches on the island, Eagle Beach offers a tranquil setting where visitors can unwind and enjoy the natural beauty without feeling overwhelmed by the presence of too many tourists.

Activities

Water Sports

For adventure enthusiasts, Eagle Beach provides an array of water sports activities. These include:

Jet Skiing and Parasailing: These activities offer a thrilling way to experience the ocean and get a bird’s-eye view of the stunning coastline. Snorkeling and Scuba Diving: The calm and clear waters make Eagle Beach a fantastic spot for snorkeling and diving. The nearby reefs are teeming with marine life, offering an exciting underwater experience. Kayaking and Paddleboarding: These activities are perfect for those who prefer a more laid-back water adventure. The gentle waves and clear waters make it easy to explore the beach at your own pace.

Land Activities

Eagle Beach is not just about water-based fun. There are several land-based activities to enjoy:

Beach Tennis: Eagle Beach is renowned for its beach tennis facilities. The beach hosts various tournaments and provides ample space for casual games. Beach Yoga: With the soothing sound of waves and the soft sand beneath your feet, beach yoga sessions at Eagle Beach offer a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. Cycling and Jogging: The wide, flat expanse of Eagle Beach makes it ideal for a morning jog or a leisurely bike ride. The views of the ocean provide a beautiful backdrop for your exercise routine.

Wildlife and Nature

Eagle Beach is also famous for its wildlife. During the nesting season, visitors can witness sea turtles laying their eggs on the beach. This magical experience is both educational and awe-inspiring. The local authorities take great care to protect these nests, and there are guided tours available that offer insights into the conservation efforts.

Dining and Refreshments

Several beach bars and restaurants are located along Eagle Beach, offering a range of dining options. From casual beachside snacks to gourmet meals, there’s something for every palate. Many of these establishments serve fresh seafood, Caribbean specialties, and international cuisine. Enjoying a meal or a cocktail while watching the sunset over the Caribbean is an unforgettable experience.

Accommodations

Eagle Beach is home to several world-class resorts and hotels, many of which offer direct access to the beach. These accommodations range from luxurious all-inclusive resorts to charming boutique hotels, catering to different budgets and preferences. Many of these establishments provide beach amenities such as loungers, umbrellas, and towel service, enhancing the overall beach experience.

Accessibility and Safety

Eagle Beach is easily accessible from the main tourist areas in Aruba. Public transportation, taxis, and rental cars make it convenient to reach the beach. The area is also well-maintained with lifeguards on duty, ensuring a safe environment for visitors.

Conclusion

Eagle Beach in Aruba is a paradise that offers something for everyone. Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or a combination of both, this beach delivers an exceptional...

Eagle beach is a very long beach so you will find place for yourself. There is a free parking but there are not a lot of spaces, so come earlier. Color of the water is very nice when it’s sunny. If it’s cloudy then it’s nothing special. Water is cold when you start to go in, but later it gets warmer. Sand is white and it doesn’t burn your feet.

But!

Beware of the strongest winds that you will ever experience in your life! These winds in Aruba cannot compare to anything, ever! Winds are blowing all the time, 30-40km per hour, sand will hit your face and body with such force you will scream. It doesn’t matter if you are in a chair or sunbed or just on towel, winds and sand will not spare you. Winds also make it very unpleasant to be in a water, for example it was too cold for me to get my hair wet.

Good thing is that you can rent an umbrella, so it is not like in Palm beach that umbrellas are only for hotel guests, but the price is crazy like everywhere else - 35 dollars for umbrella, and 10$ for one sunbed. You can buy your own umbrella but good luck placing it in these winds. It will break as soon as you only open it in any beach. There are palapas which are free but there are very few of them and they are usually all taken. Also, even though palapas are free, staff from local hotels will place sunbeds under palapas and then you have to pay! There are also bushes where you can find natural shade but for me it is unsanitary, because i saw people doing lots of ugly things there, for example blowing their noses in bushes (yuck). There are also bird droppings and wasps in some bushes.

So being at the beach is very difficult - you simply need a shade but even if you find it, wind and sand will kill any enjoyment. You also need to beware in the water because in all beaches you can see very big fishes, eels, even baby sharks, and this is all happening in shallow waters. And here water gets deep very quickly.

All in all, I was a bit disappointed in Aruba due to the wind mostly, and also due to a lot of...

Yes, it's as good as you already think it is!. The beach is absolutely gorgeous. It's a west facing beach so you won't see sunrise but you do see sunset. The sand is about as fine as I have ever seen. In many areas it's almost a powder. It's white and it's clean. The ocean is a gorgeous shade of turquoise and about 20 other shades of blue. We were in Aruba for 8 days and the first few days the ocean was calm and the beach was idyllic. The last few days the surf had picked up and was surprised to see 4- 5 ft waves! I got out there with many other people and had a blast body surfing and messing around. I'm glad we chose to stay on Eagle Beach.

Our hotel was in a quieter section in the center of eagle beach and it never really got busy. To the south around Manchebo it was definitely busier as the hotels are much bigger. Eagle Beach does have a few dining options but not many. If you want a busier nightlife with more bars and restaurants, you need to go south to Manchebo or north to Palm Beach. The palm beach restaurant scene is pretty crazy and fun and you should definitely check it out, but I don't like sitting on the beach with a million people around, so we decided to stay on Eagle Beach and visit Palm Beach when we wanted. My girlfriend and I found easiest way to get around was on "bird" scooters. This kind of adds some fun to the adventure of going up to Palm Beach. It's about a 15 minute scooter ride from the middle of Eagle Beach to the beginning of the restaurant mayhem in Palm Beach. You can also scooter to Oranjestad, which we did a couple of times and that takes about 25 minutes on a scooter.

Our last day in Aruba was on Dec 26th and four cruise ships docked that day adding about 14,000 people to the island. Needless to say, many of them came to Eagle Beach and it lost some of its charm as there are so many people. I'm glad we got to see it on quiet days and when I went on my morning walks sometimes I only saw two or three other people. It's a...
