She is the nicest woman ever! definitely reminds me of a caring loving grandma who loves to cook and make sure everybody is good before herself. She is from Colombia but has lived in Aruba for 20 years.
Her chicken and steak plates are AMAZING! Comes with rice salad and plantains. Sometimes she even has lentils to add like rice and beans.
If you’re looking for a quick snack on the go I would grab one of her precooked Colombian empanadas or Aruban astries with cheese.
She also can make fresh fruit smoothies or juice. All flavors AMAZING! ($5 each but if there’s any left over in the blender she won’t waste it but give you to you before you leave!)
The price is just right! Actually is very inexpensive. She charged us $10 per plate and we even had appetizers pretty much for free.
The plates can take time bc she cooks everything on the spot so it’s super fresh!
Ps: she doesn’t speak English but she is working on creating a sign with her menu in Spanish and English. She also doesn’t have a sign on her “store front” which is really a shack but she is also working on getting that made! So I took a picture of what it...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I found this place on our first day while shopping at the flea market. We have been here every day since we arrived 3 days ago.
Her name is Margarita, and she is very sweet and friendly. She treated us like her family and took care of us very well.
The earlier you come the better for fresh empanadas and pastechi. But the rice plates you can come any time and she cooks everything fresh.
We hope you find this place and get to enjoy the food and service here!
Pechuga con arroz y lentejas plátanos ensalada (chicken rice platter with lentils plantains and salad)
Colombian empanadas with chicken and she also has beef (orange) and the white one is Colombian buñuelos (Yucca stuffed with beef)
Breakfast platter with Scrambled eggs, fresh cheese, one regular arepa and one sweet arepa (the sweet one is really good as a snack alone!)
Is her menu that she is working on getting made but is basically what she...
