Staying as guests at the resort and everyone that works here is always friendly and helpful. The food was nearly perfect. Unfortunately our waitress was incredibly rude from start to finish. It was almost laughable how much attitude we got from her for asking simple questions.
The waitress clearly had it out for me for downplaying the fact that I had a gluten intolerance. I quite like that the whole place is accommodating to "food allergies". However I was annoyed when she scolded me for not telling her and told me I can't eat the regular bread. No amount of gluten would send me to the hospital or cause more than a stomach ache. I have been slowly introducing gluten back and I can handle more now without experiencing any symptoms so sometimes it's just easier not to mention it. (Case in point) She doesn't know that but also did not ask or give me a chance to explain. Just because you've been trained on food allergies, and how to accommodate to them doesn't mean that the same outcome will happen when it's a gluten intolerance (not celiac) compared to a peanut allergy. I did not proceed to argue with her since she was trying to doing her job and because she was clearly annoyed with us from the second we sat down.
Unfortunately her attitude continued the whole night and basically ruined what should have been a perfect evening. At least the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been here twice, one in January 2024, service started out fine, server was knowledgeble but server disappeared for at least 30 minutes after we asked for the check. There was also no mention that gratuity was included in our party of 4, we ended up tipping another 20% despite the poor service ( so a total of 35%) we should have read the bill - so that's on us. Also at that visit we wanted to order sushi - we were told NO because they were too busy with sushi orders and during the entire meal we sat on the sushinside of the dining room and there was only ONE other party of 6 that ordered sushi.ā¦. Fast forward to today, we thought we'd give it another shot. Went for sushi, we were the only table, it was 18 minutes before we got our drinks, food was mediocre at best and does not reflect the price, service is politeā¦. yet sparse, all of this is too bad because the atmosphere is great... And the hotel is lovely. Sorry but We will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place was excellent. The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate you to make sure you had a great experience. The steak was juicy and cooked to our liking. The asparagus was grilled to the tee. We also had the apple crump dessert and would recommend this to anyone. The Chop house also let you order off the Japanese restaurant menu. We had the rice-less roll and this sushi roll was very refreshing and delicious. After eating at other places nearby, Aruba needed a win and the Chophouse came through for the win. I had to give Manchebo a 4 because of the limited selection of premium liquors. My old fashion was made well but the choices of whisky was limited. Don't let that be a show stopper for getting some good food with a great experience. This was so good I had to let the manager know and left...
