Cerise — Restaurant in Roermond

We did receive a message from Cerise that the "below review" was not correct. The cream was not charged, but the added truffel (mushroom) was! They asked me to delete the review. But I do not want to do that. The woman who asked us to add the truffel never mentioned the cost of 6,50 euro for the 4x (very little) extra truffel and the ober who gave us the bill did't mention the truffel but only the cream. So in my opinion they should act better. However, the review is not bad and I did change it from 3 to 4 stars, because this miscommunication should not make this beautiful restaurant and the good food and pleasant evening a bad one.

We did have a very nice diner with theater afterwards Pieter Derks) and the food was excellent. No complaints about that. But we have been here before and the food was at normal prices and extra's were for free. But after the ownership has changed to vd Valk Hotels, the prices went very high. Normally I do not want to complain about prices because we know they all have to earn their money, but these prices are too high! A small bottle of red wine for almost 8 euro is a lot. Also we got 3 ice-cream deserts without the whipped cream so we asked for some. We did get a little cream in a small glass bottle and they charged us for 6,50 euro a peace!! For us a reason to not come back again...

We booked a package for 2 nights with breakfast and dinner. I must say, the food is even better than the previous visits we had. The staff is always friendly and made sure that we felt really welcomed and comfortable. Starters were fantastic, I had the pork belly and my wife, shrimp cocktail, main courses were pasta with seafood for me and my wife has the Entrecôte. For desert, I had the apple crumble and my wife the cheese plate. We had a very good time and the life cooking buffet is worth...

We have booked a weekend trip in this hotel and we get a combination breakfast and dinner in this restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is great and delicious.
