Cafe Pursers — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Café Pursers… what a place. I’ll be upfront and honest, this is my favorite spot for my Tripel Karmeliet. At first glance it doesn’t look like anything too special and it’s never overly crowded, but that’s part of the charm. What makes it stand out are the people. Brian the owner, along with Marco and Mike behind the bar, were so incredibly friendly that my friends and I ended up spending a lot of our time here and making some of our favorite memories during our years in Rotterdam.

Even though the crowd is mostly local, my international friends and I always felt welcome and taken care of. I honestly owe a lot to these three guys. Funny enough, I first came in just because I noticed the dartboard on the wall, but what really kept me coming back was the warm and genuine energy the staff gives off. Looking back, it feels like proof that nothing happens randomly, it was meant to be.

Now that I’ve left Rotterdam, I really find myself reminiscing about this place and all the great memories I’ve had there... from meeting the staff and playing darts with them to dancing on the stool chairs with strangers we met along the way.

In short, I love this place. I love the people. Cheers to Brian, Marco, and Mike, and to the bar that felt like home even when we were far from ours. Thank you for existing, and for giving me, my friends, and our families memories we’ll...
