Anne&Max Korte Hoog — Restaurant in Rotterdam

I’ve gone to Anne&Max every week for last month and I’ve really enjoyed studying here, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. Today however, I came to study at the cafe as I have been for the last month, I sat down and ordered and started working. After an hour, I get stopped and told that I need to pack my things and go upstairs if I want to use my computer. I told them that there are four outlets in the spot I was at and only one outlet in the entire upstairs floor but they insisted so I obliged. I went upstairs but noticed that the high tables’ chairs were too high for me to be able to write in my notebook to study as the chair and tables are at the same level, so I sat on the table beside the high chairs and I was still told to move. Cosy place to sit, nice vegan chocolate milk (albeit too sweet for our taste). The cakes weren't impressive, mostly very sugary, expensive for what you get. What I'm most disappointed with is the humane washing of the meat they sell. "Responsible meat" it says on the poster, but not even the kind staff were told what is responsible about it. There is no such thing as "responsible" meat. Killing animals for food in our modern society is always unethical, brutal, and at great ecological cost. You're selling hot dogs - if there is any kind of meat that's easily replaced by plant based alternatives, it's sausage meat. I hope you'll see the light here since you're branding yourself as sustainable, but any efforts you do with organic plants are nullified ten times over by...

Anne&Max really surprised me and my kid. as Limburgers we’re not used to this kind of breakfast setup. Fresh croissant, a little jar of granola, smoothie, scrambled eggs with bacon and spinach… it felt like a treat instead of the usual quick bite. The coffee was great, and everything looked clean and fresh.

Best part for me: I could actually choose a juice without lemon, orange, or other sour fruits. With my allergy that never happens, so it was a first. My kid loved the baked potato chips with breakfast ! simple, but it made her day.
