Ate dinner here. The vegetarian burger was good and tasty with nice side dishes. The creme brulee was undercooked however and couldn't distinguish any white chocolate in it. Cakes were nice and tasty. But actually what was most disappointing was the service. Last time I was here a friendly guy served us. This time service was very slow and the waiters didn't seem to be bothered. I think one guy was more busy with his phone/management tasks. Read moreBlij has a very relaxed and warm feel, which is perfect for a weekend lunch. I haven't had dinner here yet, so I cannot comment on it. The place has a decent selection of beers and very friendly service. It serves as a very fall-back option in case we can't find a new/not-yet-tried brunch spot.
The food is a solid 4/5. It tastes good but the menu isn't exactly unique. Having said that, I could have their Croque Monseiur/Madame any time and any number of times.

Read moreWe had a few hours to spend in Rotterdam before ending our holiday backpacking the Netherlands, Germany and Czech Republic. So glad we found this place. We ate great food and had our final drink before heading home to Manchester. The location by the canals was a total surprise to find such a relaxing area right in a city centre. However it was our lovely host who left us feeling that we had the perfect end to our time away. Unfortunately we didn't get his name but he was so pleasant, smiling and welcoming. If we are ever in Rotterdam again this is number one on our places to visit. (Oh, and cool music too)...
