I went here with one Turkish friend. We have been visiting this restaurant regularly, twice a month since we saw the ads on Instagram. He said that this is one of the only two real Turkish Doner in the Netherlands that he has found (the other one is in Den Haag).
Food: The food is straightforward and specialised. So if you fancy Doner or Iskender, this might be a place for you. They have relatively hight quality thinly sliced meat that are grilled Doner style. I won’t recommend their wrap as they don’t complement their wrap with sauce. I think it is better to order their Doner with rice or their Iskender with extra rice. (+) good meat, tasty and not too fatty rice, tasty and firm Iskender bread, freshly baked bread (-) no possibility to have variation in the meal (e.g., replace yoghurts is Iskender with rice, or have some sauce in the Doner Wraps is not possible)
Ambient: I would expect higher ambient with the price they offers. If you got space in the corner downstairs, your jacket will smells like bbq. And this place is not really a place where you can stay and chat with your friends. But since I only eat here for the meat, I have no complaints over this.
The outdoor seating is more cozy, unfortunately, too many people are smoking outside.
Service: They have increased their service quite well. For the first time today, I feel that the servers are quite friendly. Usually, (I suspects due to the long queue) it is hard to not see how rude the servers were. But today, one of the server was even gave us smiles. And the guy who seated us was not as rude as usual.
Thank you for improving...
Read moreThe döner here is surprisingly delicious, especially considering it's not in Turkey! While the menu options are a bit limited, I think this actually contributes to the overall quality and taste of the food. A lovely touch is the complimentary Turkish tea after the meal, which adds to the authentic experience. The service was incredibly fast, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained.
Although there was a minor incident where the waiter accidentally spilled coke on my husband, he was quick to resolve it by offering a complimentary sutlac (Turkish rice pudding), which was appreciated.
The only downside was the portion size—one serving of Iskender was a bit too small to leave a regular person feeling full. The price per portion is on the higher side, which makes it a place you might visit occasionally rather than regularly. Portion of mezes which are on the house would have been more considering the overall price level, traditional Turkish hospitality with much more food and number of people having it.
However, if you're craving a genuinely good Turkish döner in Rotterdam, this is definitely...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining here. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that transported me straight to the bustling streets of Istanbul.
The star of the show was, without a doubt, their döner. Hands down, the best I’ve had in the Netherlands! The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, with just the right amount of crispiness on the edges. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and you can tell they put a lot of care into preparing their dishes.
What impressed me even more was the speed of service. The food arrived quickly without compromising on taste or presentation, making it a perfect spot for both a quick lunch break or a relaxed dinner with friends.
Overall, this place is a must-visit for anyone. Whether you’re a fan of döner, or just looking for a great place to enjoy delicious food, this restaurant won’t disappoint. I’ll definitely be coming...
