Starting with the good things. They made a small mistake with the reservation that they didn’t notice we had changed the time. But they already had the table ready and it was possible to just go in without an issue. We also had one person more and it was alright and they could add them with the pre reserved dishes as well. They have for bigger groups a small group menu that makes it easier to pick and already have them know what you want so they can optimise it also to bring it to your table. Someone in the end ended up changing something on the order and it was possible to let them do it because they didn’t understand what they ordered. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice. The food itself was really nicely prepared and very tasty. If you don’t mind waiting for a bit for some good food this is a nice place to go, however I would say the service is one of the worst I have ever had.
After we got the fist round of drinks, there was no question if we wanted to have any other drinks until they brought the main course about two hours or maybe even longer later. They didn’t ask before or during the starters and I would’ve expected someone to sometimes just ask if we wanted something more to drink. After we finished the starters they didn’t remove any of the plates. This made it hard where to put plates with main course and even after putting them down no one took away the dirty dishes - until we think a shift change happened. Then someone finally asked if we want something more to drink. With the main course they also didn’t bring any new cutlery before the meals and only after a bit they were placed on the table. The dessert for some people had some spoons to eat it and others didn’t have anything.
Also if you are with a group, they don’t split any bills. So one person will need to pay everything. This is alright if everyone is Dutch since they can use “tikkie” however anyone with a group of different nationalities might have issues.
All in all, I wouldn’t go here...
Read moreLisa's kitchen, situated right next to Zuidplein shopping mall. First impressions; when entering the building the waitresses greeted friendly and helped me right away to my table. A nice " rustic" interior made me feel welcome and I enjoyed the different art work. Service was good, friendly and attentive. The food choice differed from the menu card online. When asked about it, the waitress explained that on busy days they give out fewer choices on the menu. Nonetheless we ordered the lisa burger! The burger was good, nothing special. The fries were seasoned well and were delicious. I had the tomato soup, it was savoury and enjoyable. If you are in Zuidplein area and want a cool/nice place to sit and have a satisfying meal, then i do recommend going to...
Read moreVisited the restaurant recently for some lunch, unfortunately the service was very poor. It was a busy period, and these things happen, but it wasn't a great experience.
Service was slow, waitress was pretty blunt/rude. I ordered a simple burger and fries, with a small beer. The food took forever, easily 50 minutes or more. When it did arrive the burger was good, but they'd forgot my fries; the waitress said they'd be right out but they never came. I finished my burger, went inside to ask where my fries were and a member of staff immediately took my unfinished drink from my table and started cleaning the table for another guest.
In the end, I asked for the fries to be taken off the bill and they were happy to oblige. I didn't bother with the hassle for...
