Buccaneer Beach Bar — Restaurant in Saint Martin

I normally dont write reviews but i thought it important to share my concerns regarding the service my family and I received during our recent 12-day stay in St. Maarten, where we spent a significant amount of time at this establishment. While we thoroughly enjoyed the food, the beach, and most of the staff, we had a deeply troubling experience with one of your managers, Nicola or Nicolo.

Throughout our visits, he was consistently rude and unprofessional from the very beginning. On multiple occasions, we were ignored or treated with a dismissive attitude. The situation escalated on one of our last days where were being completely ignored and it got to the point where I had to confront him directly. When I asked why we were being treated this way, he tried to deny my allegations and then eventually told me it was because we hadn’t tipped him sufficiently, despite consistently tipping around 20% on top of our bills.

This response was not only shocking, but it also felt discriminatory and misogynistic. To be treated with such disrespect after spending thousands of dollars at your restaurant, especially by a manager, is unacceptable and left my family and me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. we had spent multiple days at the Buccaneer Beach Bar, had breakfast, lunch, and sometimes even dinner, but even if we hadn't already spent so much time and money at your establishment, it is in no way how you should treat a customer. He even tried to not allow us to book chairs on our last day for no reason.

I sincerely hope the owners see this and will look into this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that all customers are treated with the respect and professionalism they deserve. I'd love to recommend this place to other people i know that are traveling to St. Maarten in the near future but if he so easily treated me and my kind family with such disrespect, then he would definitely treat others...

Love a good bar on the beach, but the food was not it. My bf and I visited and ordered mozz sticks, Jerk chicken, and Caesar salad w/ mahi mahi. Mozz sticks were good but the marinara sauce was watery and tasted like ketchup. Jerk chicken was tasty but a little dry and was slathered in BBQ sauce.. we had other authentic jerk chicken on the island and this was the most Americanized version of it. The Caesar salad had rotten lettuce, was unwashed, and the mahi on top was extremely dry. Of course ordering a salad at a beach bar is not gonna be the BEST salad ever, but unwashed lettuce… really???

Service was unfortunate, our waitress stopped by to order drinks and food but did not stop by any other time. It was very windy out and our empty basket and trash flew away and we had to pick it all up (which is fine) but it took like 20 more mins for someone to pick up the dirty plates 🥲

One thing to note is that any tip you make must be in cash - you cannot add tip at the bottom on the receipt like in the US.

This is a place Americans go to eat familiar food (burgers, mozz sticks, etc.) and IMO is not authentic to the island. If that’s your thing, you’ll love it here. There is free parking and good views so the atmosphere itself isn’t bad. If you’re looking for amazing food and service,...

Yes, they take cards but please be sure to tell the server b4 checkout that you’d like to add a tip. Unlike America, it doesn’t automatically print this section in the receipt. You must tell the server how much you’d like to add before you swipe… tip in cash. These people are so friendly and hard working & deserve to be tipped ❤️

Now what we came here for: This place is so amazing!! We spent most of our time on the French side eating bland and disappointing food. We came here and our tastebuds were brought back to life again!!

The fish was delicious. Flavorful. Fresh! I ate every piece of my fish and rice. This food left me SMILING & happy. I felt like I found another piece of my soul when eating this food. That’s how refreshing the food was.

Wings were delicious. This place was recommended to us by Everyone and they were so right about this place. The wings were cooked thoroughly and SEASONED. Great pricing too!

We also tried the all you can eat chicken and ribs. YALL. FLAVOR FLAVOR FLAVOR!!! Great portions. And can you believe the all you can eat is only $10? This is a highly recommended place for me. You must visit here atleast once then hit the beach and get a beach...
