Armada Steakhouse — Restaurant in The Hague

We had visited your restaurant many times before and were always satisfied with the taste, presentation, and service. Yesterday, we made a reservation for 10 people, hoping to enjoy a pleasant dinner with our friends. However, when we arrived, the tables were not prepared. Even after all our guests had arrived, the mezes were served without any fork/knife on the table. When we mentioned this to the waiter, he simply dropped cutlery for 10 people on the table and left. There weren’t even plates for the starters — once again, we had to ask, and they were brought late and just left 10 plate on the table. No proper place setting was done; we ended up setting our own table for our guests.

We felt like we had to ask and remind for everything. The only thing that happened without us having to request was the order-taking.

We usually come for steak and burgers. Unfortunately, some of the burgers served yesterday were cold — which was truly disappointing. Some of our guests ordered the beyti, but it was served with an undercooked tomato sauce that wasn’t even reduced to a proper consistency, making the dish quite unappetizing.

When we finished eating, the empty plates stayed on the table for a long time while we tried to continue our conversation. They were only cleared much later, which made the overall experience even less enjoyable.

The waiter who served us — an Afghan gentleman whose name I don’t recall — seemed unhappy, distracted with his phone, and unfortunately reflected that negativity onto us. He was far from providing attentive service or engaging communication.

We have always found your prices reasonable for the quality, but experiencing such service at those prices, without a smile, care, or proper attention, was truly disappointing. An evening we expected to be very enjoyable turned into a frustrating...

Visiting Armada was one that left me with a mixed feeling.

Food - Our first order was an appetiser - lentil soup which was pretty okay. We asked the server to bring the mains after. As part of our main we ordered some fries for each person. The staff brought the fries first, and after sometime came back to ask if we’re ready for our steak. That was a bit frustrating to bring the fries first and then they had to sit there getting cold waiting on the steak to arrive. My main - the spicy beef was an average eat. It was overly drizzled in spice oil as the entire food was so oily. There was some veggies which was a nice side but the plate consisted mostly of the steak and bread which was soaking in all the oil, so it wasn’t that appetising.

Service - There were about 3 different servers coming to our table and different periods, even so, each having gaps before we could get attention. 2 of them were very enthusiastic and helpful, but the 3rd wasn’t much friendly which was a bit of a miss.

Atmosphere - the place is really a lovely spot. The decor is warm and welcoming and what’s really nice is that someone had the steak experience where they had a live cooking show.

All in all, my experience here was okay m but...

Ik kwam hier met iets oudere gasten die bij ons in NL op bezoek waren , had dit restaurant via social media gezien en dacht naar een rustig en kalm restaurant te gaan maar helaas , Harde muziek , rommelig , personeel had t erg druk , ik heb gevraagd of we apart konden zitten in het bovenste gedeelte bij het trappetje dit mocht niet !! Paar x aangegeven dat we echt last hadden van harde muziek maar dit kon niet zachter omdat t druk was .. nogmaals gevraagd of we alsjeblieft boven konden zitten want we konden elkaar echt niet meer verstaan maar nee dit kon niet .. Ik had een show maaltijd besteld .. personeel kwam 15 min nadat we alles hadden besteld vertellen dat show niet gegeven kon worden vanwege drukte !! Ik had juist hiervoor dit restaurant gekozen om n speciaal iets te doen voor mijn gasten maar nee het zou minimaal n halfuur duren , ik zei oké geef ons in die tussen tijd iets om de tijd mee te vullen voorgerecht of mezze ? Ze kwam met mandje brood en olie dips ! maar even later kwamen ze al met t eten van de andere gasten en dus moest we met z’n drieën al eten terwijl een gast dus nog n half uur zou moeten wachten .. dit was echt niet oké , de bedoeling was dat we met z’n allen tegelijk ons eten voorgeschoteld zouden krijgen .. wellicht n miscommunicatie maar erg jammer dat daar niet over nagedacht wordt. na dat iedereen al uitgegeten was kwam dan eindelijk het gerecht met n show het was erg ongemakkelijk omdat de gasten ernaast meer schrokken van het vuur ,personeel stond er erg ongemakkelijk en ‘t show effect was niet wat ik er van verwachtte je merkte aan alles dat dit n moetje was en dat die kok ook maar snel zijn ding deed kortom , mijn verwachtingen waren écht erg hoog na de socials te hebben gezien maar dit was écht niet de sfeer die ik voor ogen had voor mijn gasten . Het eten was droog , er zat rijst bij die was lekker . Ossenhaas was lekker maar mijn gast had toen geen honger meer en heeft uiteindelijk niet alles gegeten.. dit was zo zonde van het dure gerecht .. we hebben t wel netjes mee gekregen in een bak maar zeg nou eerlijk dit is toch niet wat je wil als je gaat uit eten ?
