This restaurant has nice menu with allergens inside, just didn’t mention that they have not all allergens inside. So be careful if you are allergic. We’ve got there by special occasion and both allergic for fish (all seafood). Told about it two or three times at the entrance, repeated to the waiter every time before ordering anything. First, discovered that chicken goes in the same grill where fish was (it was NOT shown as allergen in the menu!). Second, even after all that discussions we’ve got some fish products inside the cabbage. Both of us got allergy reaction. Told that to the waiters.. they didn’t even say something for excuse! I’m used to different level of service. And this seems just ridiculous! Perhaps, it’s normal for Holland, but I hardly can call it “service”. To put a new spoon on the dirty table without napkin? Don’t take dirty dish from the table at the same time? Don’t clean bench before offering to take place? (Everyone was dressed nicely because of the wedding) That not service in my opinion. And that’s double pity that in Holland it must be accepted just because it’s “normal” here, “the best service”.
And I have what to compare: ones the waiter mixed aubergine and zucchini. So he was sent to the pharmacy for anti-allergy pills. (That was extreem. Never saw like that before! And nobody actually asked for that). But that was the way how the restaurant deals with their mistake. And it does exist.
As well they offered some compliment from the restaurant. Should I say that they brought their excuses immediately?
Do I want to come back and feel save next time? In that case yes. But with this restaurant I don’t want to play Russian roulette again to stay 3 days sick.
P.S.: it wasn’t our chose to go there. And I was the person who told that there’s no need to change the restaurant, because usually I have no trouble going to fish if I noticed...

It was my mothers birthday and besides celebrating it with the family I took her to Catch. After shopping the whole day we went to the restaurant. Since we were close to Scheveningen I decided to take her to a seafood themed place. I know it is not her cup of tea but that’s the challenge to give her the benefit of the doubt. She told me she wasn’t feeling well but since I have made a reservation she decided to let the evening continue.
Food: We have ordered a whole lobster, gamba’s with garlic and a lobster soup. Since she was feeling a little bit ill she only went for the soup and some bread. The lobster was perfectly cooked and I was happy that it went on the grill. Gamba’s were fine I think it was cooked with butter but it’s a nice taste. The lobster soup of my mom was balanced, perhaps for me I would add some more spices to it but I think she wanted to leave.
Service: It was a nice evening, I haven’t told the waiter about my mom since I saw that the whole restaurant was fully booked. But eventhough the crowed evening they went by to see how we were doing. Drinks were served well and the bill also came quick. Toilets.. are these categorized in service? They were wonderful.
Interior: It is a nice semi-luxury place with warm accents. The seats were comfortable and the tables had plenty of room to serve.
Conclusion: I think this restaurant is worth visiting, if you are visiting Scheveningen after a long day of spending time at the beach or shopping in the Hague, try this place out! It is definitely worth it! For me I will return perhaps with dad he is more of a seafood type.

First of all, I would like to say that I like fine dining. And if you do too, go to this place. The restaurant is packed in the weekends so pick a nice weekday for a good experience. I had the monkfish and it was perfectly cooked. The vegetable sauce that came with it, should have never left the kitchen. As it was unseasoned, but gave the show completely to the star. I also recommend the Amaretto sour. It is a nice refresher while eating fish.
My significant other had mussels and they were nice and buttery. Even I - who has a natural repulsion by my body when eating mussels - liked them. And her niece from Switzerland had a whole feast of different seafood. The lobster was a real treat. And as far as fine dining goes, this was a portion for two imho.
The missing star of my loving review is for the blatantly ignorant people that come to the place to show off either their wealth or want to make you believe they have it. The prices aren’t that bad, Jan-Pieter. Don’t act like the fish on my plate. Some people - older white couples - looked at me, because I have tattoo’s. Not the restaurant’s fault, but the marketing just attracts these douches.
TL;DR: Lovely experience and good seafood! Just don’t mind the...
