Pannenkoekenhuis Kijkduin — Restaurant in The Hague

What a surprise!! We took my 91-year old mom to Kijkduin for a pannenkoek.

But Pannenkoekenhuis Kijkduin is much more than that. Great friendly staff, very neat Pirate style interior and very colorfull flowers on the ceiling.

Besides pannenkoeken the is also a "normal" menu with great burger plates.

The three of us took the Pulled chicken pannenkoek. It was very tastefull. Some people will think it is a pulled chicken salade but believe us. My mom is a very picky eater, but she insisted to take the quarter she couldn't finish, back home.

The deserts where also very nice. Too much for me.

Next times I will go for the saté pannenkoek, pizza pannenkoek and one of the burgers with big fries.

This is pancake dining with a view! Delicious pancake varieties and service that is attentive! This is the only reason why you should go to Kijkduin beach!

I had a bacon pancake. It was delicious , not salty and very filling.

The tomatosoup had a choice of white/brown or mais bread (with butter). Nice and warm and instantly drinkable. You can pepper/salt it to taste if needed.

The ham and cheese toastie was thick and droopy and it has various options for condiments.

And of course the atmosphere is great for families. Pirates, fake flowers and animals are spread around the tables and when it is sunny, you can sit...

You know those places you spot and sometimes you have to travel a little distance to get to them? There is an excitement to it? Well, this is not one of those places. I'm glad I didn't have to travel too far or I would of cried into the cheap napkin that arrived with my meal. To be fair this was my second outing. The first here wasn't great but I thought I would give it another try and sample the savoury option. The result was a little bland. I felt I had put the waitress out just by existing.
