Sgroppino Ristorante — Restaurant in The Hague

We came last week with a large group for a dinner at Sgroppino, and they made their best to accomodate all of us. The place is rather large but gets crowded very soon, the menu not too extensive but they have pizzas,pastas plus some meat and fish dishes. We got a complimentary bruschetta which was great, I had clam linguine and they were amazing, but the portion a bit small for my appetite. Prices were on the high-end, affordable though. The highlight in my opinion was the service, as the young italian guy and the portuguese girl were very friendly and always checked if we needed anything. The lighting has to be changed though, it was so dark that we had to use phones to check the menus and i barely saw what i was eating... Overall though a great option if you want to try some italian food...

By far the best Italian restaurant I have been outside of Italy!

Parking is oké in the area. Ones you step into the restaurant, you basically step into Italy. You are greeted in Italian and the restaurant is very cozy, still offering enough space to have your private conversations. The food was just great; tastes like Italian food made with fresh local ingredient. A big tip was the pasta from the big Parmesan cheese wheel with fresh truffle! A show in preparation and tasting wonderful! They have some nice wines on the menu, at reasonable prices. Desserts are featuring a lot of Italian classics but I went for the Sgroppino; you can not go here and not have it!

positive: Complimentary starter was appreciated with fresh tomato on delicious bread. The food was delicious... we have visited many times before and the quality of what the chef prepares is superlative so we will book again. We regularly recommend this restaurant for tasty Italian food. A nice touch to be offered on the house a drink before departure.

negative: The waiter delivered bottled still water when I asked for a single glass of tap water; this bottle was opened before given the chance to say OK- if we were going to drink bottled water we prefer sparkling... my partner was not consulted; then find when the bill arrives it is 7EUR.
